I don’t recall KyoAni ever doing any sort of “pandering eroshit”. If anything they take those aspects away from the stories they’ve adapted. KyoAni is such a clean studio, that’s why they’re well respected.

  I think a lot of the anime that already have cinematic appeal deserve to be made into films. Things like Gunslinger Girl, Sora no Woto, Phantom, and Kino no Tabi (despite being episodic in nature) all had a sort of “blockbuster” feel to them.
