Magical puella fans are celebrating the announcement that two of the three Puella Magi Madoka Magica movies are due for a Japanese theatrical release in the autumn of 2012.
The two, apparently due a simultaneous release throughout Japan, are prosaically entitled “The Tale of the Beginning” and “The Tale of Eternity”:
In total three Madoka movies are due, the first two of which are to be summaries of the TV anime, with substantial new material only due in the third movie – which still appears to be some way off, having not been detailed at all yet.

APRIL FOOLS!
Yes I call April Fools on this one.
Everyone should refrain from commenting for the next 24 hours.
Or in some cases, the next eight years.
April Jokes Day...How I hate you!!!
So, do Japanese also observe April's fools?
If, and only if, April fools was a loli.

So you're gonna start practicing Onakin Skywalker?
*Checks SanCom* ... *Checks date*
Not sure if serious.
Wow. A recap of what we just saw last year that was the biggest sensation of the year. We really needed one so soon.
Considering what a troll Urobuchi is, I wouldn't be surprised if he himself was responsible for this.
Goddamnit, K-On! and Madoka fans. Can you just stop hating on each other and just fap to the girls? XD
Oh please God, let this crap be canceled before fall.
It wont be cancelled and it's gonna be awesome!
You have to believe in yourself.
cancel this shit and make a gurren lagann movie instead.
Happy "April's Fool" to everyone here.
I honestly prefer K-on over Madoka because at least k-on didn't have plot holes you could drive a bus through
K-on was character driven which doesn't always require a story of particular depth. Ensemble comedies like Azumanga Daioh and Pani Poni Dash also did the same thing.
Madoka did have a tremendous concept behind it...until it got off the road less traveled (IMO episode 10 began the plot hole unraveling that the series did not recover from)
Do I consider Madoka bad as a result? Absolutely not. The story didn't complete itself. That's my simple otaku opinion. K-on stuck to its guns and produced an experience I won't soon forget.
What I will say is that the Madoka movies do at least intrigue me to a degree (In an evangelion "can they fix it so its coherent" sort of way) and that's Shaft doing their job even to the dissenters of the show.
I will definitely laugh at an attempt to bash this opinion because thats just what it is, an opinion.
Besides you can't possibly expect EVERYONE to consider Madoka the god tier its being revered at do you? That's just silly. Good luck changing my opinion, i'll let the future movie decide that for me.
The first time I read the title of this post I read this: "Madoka Movies Due Fail".
I wonder if it's a sign or just that I need glasses.
Yes, it's a sign that your eyes are fail.
oh fuck u
My friend from Japan told me that this is real and not some april fools joke.
Obviously a lie. You have no friends.
it's clearly a lie, madoka is too much boobed
TVアニメ「俺の妹がこんなに可愛いわけがない」第2期の製作が決定しました!

unrelated but... tell me it ain't a joke.
FUCK YEAR
awesome!! i loved this anime.. this made my day im sick as hell atm lol
lol i thought the title was "madoka movies due fail" and i blinked and brain went wtf
Haruhi S3 would have been a better fool.
Fall 2012?
looks like it will be battling against Hideaki Anno's 3rd Evangelion movie...
Seriously???
There is no need for any more madoka. It's way too overrated
So what if its overrated? It was successful, so their going to bring the obsessed fans more. Its a logical decision.
Fun fact: Madoka was great and the air you breath is overrated.....
madoka was crap
No, it was amazing! I'm really looking forward to the movie.
Someone wasn't loved enough as a child.
Madoka was shit. Fanboys, you can't deny that!
Fun fact: 1 movie of Madoka has more story than 2 seasons of K-on.
Fun fact, nobody gives a shit.
Apparently you do, butthurt k-on fanboy.
K-On doesn't deserve the crap people sling at it, same with Madoka. Plotless or overatted does not mean utterly bad...
I like both K-ON and Madoka.
Oh look, here are some butthurt Madoka fanbois with inferiority complexes.
Fun fact: K-ON! is way better than madoka.
@EndlessGr8
No one ever said anything about 'bad'. Only k-on fanbois getting butthurt over someone stating a fact.
Fun fact: you're wrong
every episode of K-on have a purpose, like buying a guitar, to getting a pet, to solve an emotional knot. As well as going to concert, performing etc etc.
^This, not to mention the underlying plot of a developing friendship and group dynamic that ultimately feels like an accomplishment. It's not exactly plot by definition, but it is story presented realistically.
@22:56
It has a plot - events that make up a story. Just because someone doesn't like the plot doesn't mean it has no plot.
Huh? I don't think K-ON! can go along with the word realistic.
I'm not sure if you two are being ironical about K-on having a plot or if you really believe it ...
I mean, who will say : "Hey come on, just watch K-on, it has a great plot, and gives you a really interesting point of view about friendship and all !"
Btw i think k-on is a cool show, it's kinda refreshing, and i wouldn't say hilarious, but sometimes funny.
Obvious troll is obvious. At least this confirms that the k-on fanbase is so brainwashed that they actually believe that the anime they worship has even the slightest hint of a plot.
It's about girl's who form a band, how is that not a plot???
This comment just prove what stealth marketing for Madoka Magika is awful operation.
barring any more set backs...delays.
Madoka and K-on may both be anime but they're totally different in terms of story, characters, and purpose. Saying one is better than the other is like saying Akira is better than Ranma (Akira has better animation but Ranma is the funnier comedy.)
Ranma wasn't funny at all.
