Dokupe - obviously a reference to Dr. Pepper; what's with the popularity of it in Japan? They also advertise it in Steins;Gate.
Not that's it's bad or anything, just curious.
In the novel, that drink really called Dr Pepper.
Possibly due to the copyright reason, the name is changed in anime (or don't want to advertising it for free?).
Also, as I know, the Heaven's Memo Pad came out in 2007. So it's certainly not affected by the popularity of the drink after Steins;Gate.
It's quite difficult to buy Dr Pepper in HK but I tried it and loved it very much. (under influence of Alice xDD?)
I just realized something - I've heard it's hard to get Dr. Pepper in Japan (at least a decade ago...) and part of the reason is the "medicinal" taste - same with root beer.
But wouldn't an abbreviation like "Dokupe," even if it's unofficial, make it sort of unpopular since "doku" is poison?
