I never knew there was an Akira Manga. I just watched the movie out of curiosity after reading about it being some kind of Anime classic.
...the ending still haunts me to this day. OH THE HUMANITY!

Bleach may not be particularly great but hollywood will manage to make even Bleach worse, much much worse, I'm sure of it.

This is already giving me a headache, another one of those godawfull hollywood abominations will be made :/

Another Epic Fail for America. Another Epic Fail for Hollywood. I'm pretty damn sure Japan could make a very superior and Epic Win Bleach movie (live) if they wanted to. And I have seen lots of Japanese live movies based off of anime that are VERY good.

Hollywood keeps ruining Japanese anime and games by turning them into stupid movies with American actors.
They would probably put Justin beiber as Ichigo. Yep...American person with a Japanese name. Or maybe put any other asian actor that can pass for a Japanese.

Somebody get onto petition online to stop them. PLease send a bunch of complain letters to warner bros and viz media. This does not deserve a hollywood movie because they will F**K it up.

Hollywood producers don't get enough with ruining Toriyama's work, seriously these guys needs otakus with them, I just forsee an strange plot and out-of-place characters, these are the things that makes japanese thinks bad about us.

Funny thing is, even something as American as Batman is 'white washed' in Hollywood too. Characters with international or ethnic roots were cast as all white characters with actors who can't sell any of their Arabic or Mexican roots, etc. I think I heard that even the Xmen and other comic book movies have the same idea. They even bother to turn British characters into American ones for example. It's just some ridiculous agenda on Hollywood's part.

"One in particular" is not "many". There are bad movies and good movies everywhere. I have seen some laughable Jap movies, and some fantastic ("Nobody Knows" was the last one, and is really beautyfull). The difference is that Hollywood makes so many movies, most of which are blockbusters, which are also the ones that are advertised the most, that we see A LOT of crap, and often can't see the jewels. When it comes to foreign movies, we usually only see the good ones, and that happens to japan too.

So far, Japanese movie are still more way lot better in majority of Anime/Manga adaptation.
IMO Japanese movie are only lack of knowledge when it comes to action genre title. like doing CG, explosion, etc. just not crunchy enough.
