  There is a possible chance that the Chinese treasury is pulling an “Emporer Nero” on the citizens of China. For those who don’t know, Nero robbed the Roman populace of a shitload of money by changing much of the material inside the coin to a less valuable metal. This could be what is making the coins react chemically.
