I think too many of the hotbloods in that list are kind of a parody/post-modern take on hotbloods.
I watch anime made decades before my birth, and you can see some truly freaking-out, hot-blooded, one-track-minded men of justice in those shows. xD
I'm playing Blazblue right now and Bang Shishigami reminds me of characters like those. So hotblooded that they can't even be called reasonable or smart anymore. Just machines of manliness!
