Idol Otaku Inflict “Semen Handshake” on AKB48

creepy-otaku-handshakers-1.jpg
creepy-otaku-handshakers-2.jpg

Scandalous allegations about what goes on at idol handshaking events are once again being made, this time describing the extremes of perversion some ultra-creepy otaku engage in at the expense of their beloved idols.

Various industry journalists and other connected experts supposedly maintain the AKB handshaking events are the source of considerable ills, ranging from distorting sales to utter perversion:

“CDs come with one handshaking event coupon and you need several to get an actual ticket, so many fans will buy a great many CDs in order to get this. Once they have it they just throw the CD away or sell them off at dirt cheap prices. I doubt many of these fans buy them to actually listen to the music.”

“Rapidly increasing numbers of fans are actually resorting to shoplifting to get the CDs. One person even got arrested for going around at an event intimidating other fans into giving him their coupons.”

“Their discs get to number 1, they have repeated million-seller chat-topping hits. But that’s because their fans are incredibly desperate, sometimes buying 10 discs each.”

“Only the promoters get anything out of all this. Some of the latest handshaking events are being referred to as ‘touching events,’ and increasing numbers of their more reckless fans are busy groping their breasts and sticking their hands up their skirts. That’s why idols like Tomomi Itano have reputations for hating their fans and find any excuse not to attend the events.”

“Before the handshaking, they go to the toilets and onanise there, and attend the event with it on their hands. When one of the members goes to shake their hands, thinking them an ordinary fan, they get a sudden sticky sensation. Some members responded with a shocked ‘What the hell is this!?’”

Sadly many are by now unsurprised at the lengths some fans apparently go to:

“This is your doing guys! Give it a rest.”

“Of course creepy otaku are creepy. If you’re deliberately marketing to them what do you expect?”

“The stuff about the semen made me laugh. What kind of hero does that?”

“Give them a break, they deserve something for being forced to buy all those trashy CDs.”

“What is with that article…”

“They only buy those awful CDs to get the chance to do all that perverted stuff.”

“What do you expect if you employ sales tactics like that?”

“Make it into a fellatio event and you’ll get rid of all those guys with semen on their hands.”

“Can’t they just arrest the ones who do this stuff?”

“I bet there were always guys doing this stuff.”

“Being suddenly hugged and kissed by some maniac is what being an idol has always been about. They do get paid a lot for it.”

“Give it a rest, it’s basically a form of prostitution so what do you expect?”

“Having to buy 10 CDs to shake hands with them for a few seconds, you’d kind of expect this stuff really.”

2nd pic is AKB but 1st pic with the alleged semen handshake is S/mileage, left to right Dawa, Yuuka and Kanyon.
AKB handshake have bodyguards that double check the fans and give them hand sanitizers. Anyone that believe this shit is ignorant seeing the source is 2ch to begin with.

So, what is the point of this article anyway? Looks like a bunch of asshat comments from people who don't even know the group and a stupid urban legend/smear campaign that was made up on the spot since 1) it cannot be proven in any way; 2) it is contraddicted by facts.
I mean, look at what site they dragged it from, Jesus Christ. Show some integrity at least, Art.

Oh good lord, the stupid shit I am forcing myself to read...

All of these are pretty goddamn stupid allegations to be honest, not to mention empty and baseless. Some of them reach such a high level of stupid they even contraddict the images shown in there, so I can't believe there's someone taking them seriously.
First off, it is a known fact to everyone who has seen one of those "handshake events" that there's always a couple of staff members standing at the top of the line whose job is to hand out hankies and sanitizers to the guests when it's their time to meet their stars. In these YT videos (IHokS_5N78c and 3cRTgbto_aQ) it's shown very clearly what I'm talking about. So there goes the whole point of this article.

Furthermore, these events involve idols standing behind a desk and the security keeping an eye at both her and the guest (YT video again XwNOxqfI0zE), so the groping bullshit is so dumb you have to conclude that anyone who made up that stuff has never watched or been to any of those events, nor do they know how these events are set up.

And the other stuff is just stupid. Idol groups have been holding these events for nearly 25 years, as long as the idol genre exists, and the business had always been the same: if you want to enter you must produce a proof of purchase in some form or buy a copy of the single outright. No, it's not something that AKB48 created out of the blue, it's a tradition if you want to call it so, so thinking that their high sales correspond to it, it means that you are ignoring the dozens of other idol groups that had been doing the same for decades without reaching even half of the success of AKB48.
Idol fans buying CDs in a bulk has been common practice for years, all across the board, and the business of attaching a free voucher with their singles had been in vogue since the first Morning Musume single if not earlier (Morning Coffee managed to sell 50,000 copies this way, actually: they rented a sports arena and charged their fans with the purchase of a CD as "admittance fee"). Please do your research a bit better next time. The fact that you used a photo of S/mileage thinking it's AKB48 is really telling. I bet that you believed that only AKB48 held these kind of events, seeing your dumb hate-boner.

And, for once, can we just say that you are just translating (rather poorly to be honest) an article from Men's Cyzo and other shitty net tabloids, meaning that those famous "industry journalists" probably exist only in the minds of these people?

I hate to say anything to defend Artefag, because he's demonstrated over and over that he's a useless lying sack of shit just stirring up pageviews, but..

Most of the claims in this so-called article are unprovable and, when not, they are proven false by simple facts. If you want to defend it then the burden of proof is on those who supports the claim, meaning you and Arteshit.

Most of these articles are made up but there are some handshaking events that I've been to out of curiosity and foud that have very poor security. So some fans can get away with a lot. Well this is from usually less famous agencies. Hence why AkB48 is really famous and some of the no-name agencies disappear quickly.

"you need several [coupons] to get an actual ticket"

    LOL NOPE

this might be true for other idols who routinely hold lottery contests, raffles and suchlike... but with AKB48 you only need one coupon from one CD in order to access the concert/handshaking event for free

how interesting to see that all those imaginary 'industry journalists' couldn't even get even the basics right, especially when it's something that is so widely publicized and promoted you can't possibly get wrong

somehow, this makes it even harder for me to take these claims seriously

I can confirm this. I've bought every AKB single since Sakura no Shiori and around 3/4 of them have come with handshake event tickets. There has never been a need to buy multiple CD's to get handshake tickets....people buy multiple CD's because they all have different covers, have different b-side songs and also come with photos that are randomly inserted...I've bought the A/B/C versions of quite a few AKB singles (I HATE it when I get the same photo with all of them!).

AKB has just gotten too big for these events and is looking for a way to get out without seeming to betray their idol roots so they're looking to make the fans the reason they're stopping. AKB has become a soft-porn music act, less honest than Ebisu Muscats (idol band made up of AV actresses) but no different than them....you'll notice that not one of the AKB girls had any problem with the Heavy Rotation PV which is wonderful soft-porn, or just get any of the top girls' photo books (I reccommend Shinoda, Itano, Watanabe and SKE's R. Matsui's!) and enjoy!

BTW....I would LOVE for Itano Tomomi to tell me she hates me...she's sooooooooo 'dere!

The article is probably from a sore loser who can't stand their favorite KPOP group or H!P group getting low sales because AKB48 is on top. A lot of the comments from the article are really stupid:

“CDs come with one handshaking event coupon and you need several to get an actual ticket, so many fans will buy a great many CDs in order to get this. Once they have it they just throw the CD away or sell them off at dirt cheap prices. I doubt many of these fans buy them to actually listen to the music.”
    - First, for you to become a fan, you should've seen and heard them already. so to throw all CDs and not at least keep one is a STUPID ASSUMPTION.

“Rapidly increasing numbers of fans are actually resorting to shoplifting to get the CDs. One person even got arrested for going around at an event intimidating other fans into giving him their coupons.”
    - Not the fault of the girls or promoters. Obsession is either possession of some evil spirit or brain sickness. Either of the two, the end decision will always fall on the fan as they are NOT FORCED to buy anything. One handshake will do.

“Their discs get to number 1, they have repeated million-seller chat-topping hits. But that’s because their fans are incredibly desperate, sometimes buying 10 discs each.”
    - No. The only one desperate is the article writer who obviously is hoping desperately against odds that his favorite idol group will eventually overthrow AKB48. has he not realized that all IDOL groups sell multiple versions?

“Only the promoters get anything out of all this. Some of the latest handshaking events are being referred to as ‘touching events,’ and increasing numbers of their more reckless fans are busy groping their breasts and sticking their hands up their skirts."
    - AKB48 has the tradition of being an idol that you can meet and greet. that has been the way since they started, it will be the same until they disband. only stupid perverts and creepy people do this.

"That’s why idols like Tomomi Itano have reputations for hating their fans and find any excuse not to attend the events.”
    - another made-up fallacy. Tomochin has been attending events as regularly as she can, all girls have records of being absent when they are sick, BUT they are required to line-up on another date when they are already well. THERE IS NO REFUNDS FOR TICKETS, hence ALL GIRLS WILL LINE-UP for handshakes one way or the other. NO EXCUSES.

“Before the handshaking, they go to the toilets and onanise there, and attend the event with it on their hands. When one of the members goes to shake their hands, thinking them an ordinary fan, they get a sudden sticky sensation. Some members responded with a shocked ‘What the hell is this!?’”
    - They should be shot. in the head. and in their balls. Then chopped to a million pieces.

I would be defending them. You know why? Because this article is a farce and a fucking half, and deserves the ridicule it gets for the ridiculously anal portrayal of such a group.

If for instance, Adele had 48 members, reported that some of their fans gave semen-crusted handshakes, only youtube videos proved this as far away from the truth as possible, especially using images from another group like Arteshit did, I'd defend them in an instant. You know why? Because false journalism -- if you can call 'Artefacts' inability to fact-check, and only translate for pageviews 'journalism' -- is a farce worth attacking.

That and I want to point out how absurd it is to make fun of 48 people with sexual appeal and musical talent, but not make fun of 23 people and sexual appeal/no sexual appeal, with musical talent in the video game industry

Ummmmm dumbass.....ALL FEMALE MUSICIANS ARE PROMOTED FOR LOOKS AND SEX APPEAL. There are exceptions like the drummer from Maximum the Hormone but in Japan the rule is that you have tits and you are a musician, then those tits will be used to promote you. This is true for Enka, Pop, Rock and every other type of music. Its also true for acting, seiyuus, news announcers, athletes and even authors.

BTW, AKB48 does not have 48 people...they passed that number in 2007...if you include their sister acts in Japan they are at well over 200 girls and if you just count AKB themselves then they have over 100. So I suggest you shut the fuck up about subjects you know nothing about, asshat.

Here, faggot. This is one of [many] songs from AKB48, and proves they do actually have musical talent, in addition to sexual appeal. That's how the music industry works. If you're not at least attractive in the pop business -- or have an existing fanbase -- you just won't get that much attention. Exclusions do happen, but usually not in Japan.

This is just one of many songs from AKB48, learn to youtube them or something faggot.
