AKB48 doesn’t deserve any respect. They aren’t about music, they are about promoting a harem. When you have that many people it’s obvious that’s what it is. So they can’t get mad when they are treated like harem whores.

There are exceptions like the drummer from Maximum the Hormone but in Japan the rule is that you have tits and you are a musician, then those tits will be used to promote you. This is true for Enka, Pop, Rock and every other type of music. Its also true for acting, seiyuus, news announcers, athletes and even authors.
