I still remember when the OAV of 'Plastic Little' (or 'Plastic Nipple' as it was colloquially called) was considered the pinacle of anime fanservice. Oh how the times have changed...

Nope, he doesn't do that. At all. It's one of the things he refuses to draw and if you ever see it, you can be sure it's a photoshop.
He was a pioneer on actually showing pubic hair on 2d characters back in the old days.
He's an inspirational source for quite a lot of h-mangaka. His title of "King of Breasts" is well-earned if you ask me. You'd be hard pressed to find a whole lot of equally gifted illustrators.
His storyline mangas are not THAT great though. He's really all about the glossy, eye candy.
not really, there is a lot of pre-80 pubic hair mangas and authors. He was maybe the first one who used cg for that.

his old work is more like the 90's artstyle, which i personally think is the best style. but now his art has changed to more clean simplistic lines - like more current animes today.
in my eyes at least its way different but i like to draw anime for fun, so im more sensitive to it, so yeah...
I don't have anything against the style per se, but after so many years the body proportions in some of his drawings still look a bit amateurish, as someone would draw without actually taking a figure drawing class. Of course he's been drawing for a long time so some poses look great, but it's impossible to deny he hasn't developed much (which is not the same as being bad, he's a great H artist).

I was a fan of his back in the day, but this artwork does nothing for me. It comes across as being very fake, and I don't mean because it is drawings. It has that same feeling you get when you know that a woman is only doing modeling for the money. Specifically that "just hurry up and give me my paycheck" look. There is no interest in being natural in this art and the quality suffers due to it.
Is it just me or does his newer artwork seem a bit "forced" retro to you? Comparing to some of his older work, this seems strangely stiff and uninspired - forced, even. His older work looks like he had much more fun doing them.

That almost seems to be as much a distinguishing characteristic of his art as the immediately-identifiable nipples, eyes, and crotch hair.. (Of course, not all his girls are crying, but a good number are)
IMO that's another, if lesser identifier for his work.
Immediately recognizable nipples and breast shape? Check. Eye shape? Check. Pubic hair design? Check. Is she crying? Check. Must be Urushihara.

While his "style" is incomparably beautiful. Faces and expressions are quite good.
The man has to get over his preoccupation with over emphasis of women's hips and over sized tits.
Real women's hips aren't like that. Even given that the Art itself is "stylized" to his own style.
It should be noted that while parts of a woman's backside is portrayed deliciously pleasing to the eye. Some of the girls that he portrays have inordinately the potential to have huge asses given their proportional scale. Which kind of ruins the over all fantasy.
