Whats this place? Full of strange Japanese things. And look at the sides of this page. All porn. And this site is very popular among foreigners in Japan and prospective foreigners outside of Japan. Back in high school I was having an issue with a teacher. It was around then my dad told the school councilors that line. They were not very happy!
Quite sad how many teachers don't seem to be into teaching to teach but to put forth an agenda.

There is this weird paradox that I see in my life. My childhood is spent in South East Asia. There the teachers actually try really hard and actually tend to know what they are talking about. My middle school math teacher would often finish the lecture early and then throw in extra, totally free lessons on useful things like personal finance and technical writing for kicks. But teachers get paid peanuts in SEA, and people who study education are generally looked down upon. If you wonder how I can gauge "level of respect", that is from hearing the laments of my dad and mom, who taught in university and high school respectively.
Then I came to Canada, where the teachers are overpaid (not as much as hockey players, mind you, but just in relative to what they do) and don't really give a @#*&@() about growing students. Oh and they go on strike very often too.
I am now working on my PhD, had an engineering/commerce double-major for my undergrad, and tutored quite often, so I have had my fair share of learning and teaching to make an educated comment about the subject.
And that attitude is why the USA is well on it's way to third world country status.
