Congrats, you're all calling it a copy of GC because of two factors that don't even matter since most main characters have a special ability, and they all have to fight something. I do agree that it's more like NGE though. I'm not seeing any legit reasons as to why you all try to say that the anime as something it's not.

Also, he's a wimp/pathetic character because seeing an almighty character from the start is already boring. You could tell from the beginning of CG when Ledouche starts acting like a god, that he would fail in the end. Death note is also similar to this. I'm sorry but most of you seem to have one-track minds and focus on another anime that has two similarities to this one.

Shu was essentially as broken as Shinji was at the beginning of NGE. You can't expect such a person to start acting like a Lelouch and take the bull by the horns.

The series is basically about him healing and growing and becoming more than he was before. And as they say, Rome wasn't built in a day, and the same applies to rebuilding a person's psyche.

Takes a while. But once done, you just might be witness to something glorious. To paraphrase Ramirez from Highlander.

Both Shu and Shinji are the way they are for a reason. Some folks get fired up by adversity like Lelouch, others get torn down, like Shinji and Shu.

But just because they got torn down, doesn't mean they cannot rebuild themselves if given the proper support. And Shu is in a better position than Shinji was in that regard.

And besides he isn't cock blocking anyone.
