It depends. For years I went to classes with people that generally weren’t very attractive. But the point isn’t about attractiveness in those instances. I mean the best drawings I’ve gotten from life drawing were actually heavyset older guys with a lot of detail in their faces. Plus I learned the most from those sessions. On that note though…

To be honest, I don’t know. I have heard several stories, and every female model has at least one bad experience. I didn’t see a nude woman in life drawing for months, since I started with male models for a while. A couple of my classmates years ago were not treating the situation professionally when she was there, but we yelled at them for it, because there is a time and place for guys to allow our hormones to admit our attractions, and that’s not one of them. The point is to learn to draw the body accurately, not admire it sexually, so it doesn’t matter. In fact the sessions I go to now we get sleek dancers and college girls that of course I find attractive, but it’s all shapes and shadows when they’re posing. Actually if anything I get more turned on when they come out from the changing room with their tight jeans on when they’re done.
But we haven’t had a man come in for like a year… and frankly I’m getting sick of drawing attractive girls, because there’s nothing much to it. If a guy gets giddy and stupid in a life drawing session, well… he’s unprofessional and should be thrown out. If you want to see hot, naked women you can’t touch anyway, the internet has a wealth of that, and they’ll even do crazy shit like have sex with animals. Seems a bit of a waste to pay 20 an hour for a flesh statue if you’re after porn. Hell, get good enough and you can draw your own porn.

@ Anon 6:14 I’m not sure what to say except you’re being a bitch. First of all, if they’re younger, then yes, there’s no way to get around initial discomfort of the situation, because it is a new experience and most people are uncomfortable at first. Most guys get over it very quickly, and if not, any decent teacher will reprimand them or outright kick them out. The artistic mind will forget that it’s a naked body, and it will be perceived as I said: shapes and shadows. You should know this. …

I think they’re not so much confused about any sagging, but the size and position. I mean, I don’t know how old she’s supposed to be in this picture based on wherever the manga is, but they are very large breasts for a girl of her frame. Not completely rare, of course, but she didn’t look that big in the anime unless my memory is just terrible. At life drawing there are models who actually refuse to go into positions like that, and I can only assume the reason is because they don’t like the way …

@ Anon 21:20 Should I go over the irony of an idiot attempting to use arguments from the person their calling an idiot as proof for their idiocy with no logical or scientific retort as to your argument for my being an idiot? Oh wait, I just did. You are a complete waste of space, time, and thought. And it’s ‘proven’ you moron.

@ Anon 20:21 I didn’t say spiritualist show, I said spiritualist. And I’ve already explained at length how it’s based on proven physics concepts. If you want to research the experiments on the electromagnetic effects humans have on the planet itself, look up Gregg Braden and do your own reading and research. None of you want to be correct, you all just want to be right. That right there is the difference between science and religion as it is, which makes all of your stupid retorts that much …

Again, you’re not listening to me. I never said Feng Shui is a proven science in and of itself, but its concepts are based on proven science. Christianity has that in many of its doctrines too… although in their case I wonder if it’s accidental much of the time :P Or stolen from other cultures like much of their doctrines.

@ Anon 3:33 I’m not sure what to tell you. You’re going off of nothing, while I’m going off of real science that has shown we affect the planet in a very real way merely by our perceptions. It is measured, and proven. So there’s really nothing I can say except you have a lot to do to prove it wrong. The concrete placement and the relationship in Feng Shui are related. Nobody ever said they weren’t, only you all seem to assume it’s not. Feng Shui isn’t just someone in a robe arbitrarily …

@ Anon 14:28 And that is the reason why it baffles me why so many are against the concept of energy flow having an affect on people. It has been proven by the scientific method that not only do we affect reality around us, but vice versa. By simple logic, that alone shows that it does play a role in an aspect of our lives. People not having the desire, interest, or ability to perceive it doesn’t remove its presence though. Many scientists have accepted the new energetic concepts that affect us …
