Gosick? It’s all kinds of awesome, but certainly not heart-warming. I’m at ep 11 now, and themes covered already include ethnic discrimination, sexual child slavery, arbitrary rule and surprising amounts of blood all set in a generally unjust and rotten world. I hear there will be (implied) organized rape later too.
To be honest I was caught completely off-guard when I started watching it with my only knowledge of the show coming from coverage on this site…

Uhmm… no? It was depressing till the last second. The dream-like end couldn’t change that at all. In fact, having just finished it I’m seriously in need of strong happy-pill of a show right now. It’s completely beyond me how people can call continuously heaping suffering and misery on the characters “heart-warming”. It’s already been five days since I wrote my comment but I had to say this.

Most of these are not heartwarming but rather the only answer you get because todays otaku have rather low knowledge about good anime and felt so desperate that anime like K-ON and Minami-ke haunt all lists… Natsume no Yuujinchou and Usagi drop are the only ones in this list that have heartwarming aspects, most others are drama/slice of life but have no heartwarming story at all,especially Ano Hi Mita Hana, that anime is very depressing and sad and has no heartwarming elements at all(how can …
