Noboru Yamaguchi, the 39-year-old author of the Zero no Tsukaima series, has announced the scheduled operation to remove his cancer has been a complete success.
He announced his survival via Twitter, of course:
“I’m resting after the operation’s success. I was able to take a little stroll today as well.”
“My sincere thanks to all those who left messages of encouragement. I’ll treasure the life you’ve bestowed upon me from here on. Goodnight!”
Happily, his immediate prospects seem good, although sadly his long-time prospects are another matter; it is not clear what kind of cancer he was stricken with, and as long-term survival rates vary wildly depending on the organ affected it is imprudent to speculate on this.
He does at least have the benefit of a huge and greatly supportive group of fans…

YOU HEAR THAT CANCER?! YOU SUCK!
Baka Cancer! Inu!
like a boss
Dr. Blackjack apparently wanted to ensure season 4 made it, as well. Yamaguchi can't be allowed to die, ever!
Now then, if only Ishihara would get blighted with cancer, Japan would seem like a halfway interesting country again.
Perhaps we could implant Yamaguchi's cancer into Ishihara?
Er, I'm not entirely sure cancer works quite like that. Cancer is an overproduction of organic tissue, it's basically the body trying to regenerate tissue that it thinks isn't there. Once it goes out of control it basically makes a faux organ. that's loaded with arteries and blood. It's why brain tumors and stuff are such sensitive operations.
dont worry hes already 78~ ahahaha
Yeah, but it's generally the people we least want around that tend to live longest. He's probably got another 20 years in him. Just to spite us.
Well How about this While Ishihara is making a speech how about this one?
DEATH NOTE
i`ll write "Stoned To Death"
From sucking too much Weed? of just getting pelted by numerous stones?
why just cancer? why can't we hope he'll die of stroke when giving his usual 'loli is bad' speech?
If you ain't living in a country with awesome medical tech.. you'll die much quicker. If you live in a country where socialized medicine occurs.. you'll die even faster~!

Two old men did just that in the U.K. recently because there was no room in the hospital and both kick the bucket in two different vans just OUTSIDE of the hospital! Gwyneth Paltrow asked madonna where she should give birth to her baby, and got a Hell No!! to the great u.k. and This madonna bitch wants obama-care (i.e.= u.k. health care)too, the fucktard!

Someone like Satoshi Kon would of LIVED had he gone to America to handle his problem.. he didn't.
So he DIED.
This person has a 80-90% chance of Not Living so I hope all the works are completed before this one too kicks the bucket in a van just outside the hospital or by the phone waiting for the operation(s).
um... i fail to see what the UK has to do with Japan... and it seems like you have a very flawed understanding of how the system works here in the USA. from what I can tell, you are likely upper class/ upper middle class which means you are part of the minority of Americans who can still afford moderately useful health insurance in the US, and it also is very likely that you yourself are not paying for your own healthcare insurance, or else you would be complaining yourself.
the US does have some of the best hospitals in the world, but by far, Americans pay the most for healthcare insurance and get the least out of it out of all developed nations.
but as to the article, good to see another person win against cancer, especially when their odds were not very good.
of all the people to get cancer, why does it not include ishihara? >_>
I hope Ishihara chokes on a loli.
"Someone like Satoshi Kon would of LIVED"
It's "would have LIVED" you goddamned moron.
[takes out death note] which was his whole name written and when is he doing the speech? MUAHAHAHA
Good to hear I just love Zero no Tsukaima and I hope he gets better soon as well as a season 4 and a US novel release.
Has there ever been a 4te season of any J.C. Staff Anime?
its not wrong to be the first right...?
I'd like to hope for that, just like his successful operation.
Yes Thank god wish for another anime season.
This is totally a happy update. Glad that he is fine. Hopefully he can continue with the series so we can have season 4 in the near future.
If you count 13 episodes as a "season," then some JC Staff shows like Shana and Index/Railgun have already surpassed Familiar of Zero's episode count. And they were involved with quite a few of the Slayers TV series, movies, and OVAs, spanning ~14 years worth of time.
I'm not a fan and still I'm glad to hear that.
Same here,I'm not a fan but a life is still a life. Stay healthy.
... Just no.. I'd like another studio to handle it. It's very painful how JC Staff completely screws up their adaptation with excessive amounts of spicy innuendos.
Before anyone throws a fit and calls gay, I'm ok with fanservice as long as they don't shove forcibly like and completely ignore the whole story's premise.
Also... Their anime originals suck balls. Good job with Yumekui Merry JC Staff... Handled like a real pro. Who knew the trombone/trumpet/cock was invisible.
Heh. Haters gonna hate. J.C. Staff actually makes excellent adapatations - the "To Aru Majutsu no Index" and its season two being an example.
great news. now season 4 zero no tsukaima, please
Don't be such an impatient douchebag.
lol, the novels got licensed, but the company thought they wouldn't break even, since their previous novels didn't sell well, so it never got published. XD
Well, I don't really mind the novels being released in the US, but a fourth season of it? I think they should first go and remake at least the third one (and preferably the second one, too).
rly good news!
ur avatar says the opposite, lol
Maybe he's still tense because of the uncertainty of the operation's success.
Excellent he recovered
[In this moment the whole Warsaw has a WTF moment, as everyone in the city has heard a bunch of otakus being very happy]
Rejoice! There's still natural justice in this world. Congratz to him and Good Job to the surgeon for the successful operation~
i think the surgeon was like, "damn my son's gonna kill me if i fail this one" during the surgery
still, good thing its a success
awesome!
if only satoshi kon had the same luck
So very true. I've a feeling his detection of cancer came far too late.
It really is true what they say about early detection!
Not to rain on anyone's parade, but he's not out of the woods yet.
Hopefully they got it all, and if not that the remainder goes into remission. Those are his best scenario's.
Worst case, it aggravates the situation and the faulty cell programming goes into overdrive to compensate for the lost tissue.
The Big C is one of the most insidious diseases there is. And even in the best of situations it can merely go into lurk mode, only to come back later.
:(
whenever Ishihara announcing sth, he should have a massive heart attack so that it will look like Divine Punishment!
cancer is too weak, and ppl can still harass others even when in bed
HELL FUCKING YEAH!!! thank god, he got though.
some actually good news in the otaku community, seeing as the days are looking dark ):
Glad to hear he's doing okay! Not a fan of Zero no Tsukaima but as a manga lover, I wish for the best for all manga-ka.
Yes, very good news indeed! Glad to see he's recovered for now. Hope he continues getting even better, and the resulting 4th season indeed.
Any news on the creator of Kannagi making her comeback yet?
HELL YEAH! LONG LIVE... LOLZ.... I just don't know what to say. Like I said last time: We don't need more dead authors in this day and age.
THANKS GOD thank for keeing a Great Author Alive.
Here comes the 4th Season.
:D Thats awesome
Glad to hear that he is alright
That cancer is the cancer that is killing manga.
-end terrible joke-
