As far as I’m concerned, anyone who mentions Pearl Harbor as some retort against Japan instantaneously proved how unconscious and stupid they are.

Frankly I’m glad for the Pearl Harbor repetition, because it acts as a beacon for detecting stupid people. Would make life so much easier if people like that could walk around wearing an “I’m with stupid” T-shirt with the arrow pointing up.

@ Anon 17:29 I’ve never understood why German singing only sounds halfway decent to me with its techno rap. I haven’t heard any other lyrical song in German that works for me. German has too many harsh ‘angles’ in its speech to sound romantic or smooth. Too many harsh stops in the words. I’ve tried to see if it’s because of my American recognition of speech patterns, but I love Russian, Japanese, Indian, French, and even some Hispanic songs (even if their romance songs all sound trashy and it’s …

The reason it’s popular is because he does get the bitches. He’s unapologetically horny but also instinctively intelligent, and despite some surprise when he wakes up with a naked girl next to him, he graciously accepts the tits like a man. BOOSTOOOO!!

  • Tokyo Metro Mascot Panned For Being Too Cute:
Objectively, even I have to admit it’s not about being too cute, she looks like her pencil skirt is binding her crotch so tight it’s caused her to orgasm mid-stance. The flushed face and the arm pressing her breast while touching her face don’t help. The image totally looks like she’s in a moment in a JAV where the vibrator that’s hidden has done its work. This is an instance where toning it down a tad is not an unreasonable prospect considering her purpose. I can’t read the Japanese, but it …

That was the intention, it was ‘overplayed’ but the characters appropriately reacted and grew to the fact that nothing was changing, or at least their perceived nothing was changing. The timing was actually quite good, once you finally are like ‘dammit, bitch! Stop!’ they then have something acknowledging it and growing. Which was excellent work.

  • Babymetal Anime Series Announced:
Ami and Yumi are still around, but the show Hihi Puffy AmiYumi was most definitely a gimmick for marketing them in other regions including the US. At the time they weren’t really known except for the Teen Titans intro, which was also kind of a gimmick, but one that worked well because it was catchy. Baby Metal though already has mainstream western approval and has appeared on the Tonight Show, so they’re definitely a different situation, so I’m curious what they’ll do with this show. Points to …

The definition can be challenged all it wants, but they’re right. It’s not anime unless it’s made primarily in Japan based on Japanese conceptualization. ‘Anime style’ is separate, and there’s nothing stopping outsourcing of a decent level of inbetweening to Korea and such, but the core concepts and creation must remain Japanese. In this sense, Boondocks could technically be called an anime, due to its animation being from Production IG, however its core concepts do not exist as Japanese, so it …
