As far as I’m concerned, anyone who mentions Pearl Harbor as some retort against Japan instantaneously proved how unconscious and stupid they are.

Frankly I’m glad for the Pearl Harbor repetition, because it acts as a beacon for detecting stupid people. Would make life so much easier if people like that could walk around wearing an “I’m with stupid” T-shirt with the arrow pointing up.

@ Anon 17:29 I’ve never understood why German singing only sounds halfway decent to me with its techno rap. I haven’t heard any other lyrical song in German that works for me. German has too many harsh ‘angles’ in its speech to sound romantic or smooth. Too many harsh stops in the words. I’ve tried to see if it’s because of my American recognition of speech patterns, but I love Russian, Japanese, Indian, French, and even some Hispanic songs (even if their romance songs all sound trashy and it’s …

Please, Compile Hearts… Please… I’m begging you. Stop sucking. I want to like your shit. Your concepts are decent and you can do it. I know you can. Just STOP releasing SHIT! Make SOMETHING OF QUALITY! I’ve bought your shit constantly like a cosmic joke hoping you improve, but I stopped 3 games ago because you just never fucking learn. I can only sit here and hope this one isn’t going to be as shit. I don’t listen to reviews ever, but this company’s games are the only ones I do. I have to …

I have to admit, Mana Khemia somehow feels different. I felt more for that game than any of the Iris games, the way certain characters’ stories just kind of dropped on you unlike any other game I’ve played of the same type really made me like them that much more. Especially the main girl, whom of course I won’t spoil. I have never before or since seen characters react to that type of history that way, the character themselves included.

The models are fine, I’m not certain what the issue is. The textures, lighting, and base model fit beautifully in the world, and have for a few games. They could do with a few more polies in the hands and more detailed areas outside the face here and there, but by and large there’s nothing really weak about them at all. Other creatures and the environments though have been a bit hit-and-miss. I will admit I’m glad Ayesha finally made a non-floaty jump.

I have to say, I truly loved Totori and her story’s buildup. It was surprisingly well done for what I expected. I was very surprised by how little she seemed to rely on overt moe elements to be an enjoyable character. Not to say they weren’t present mind you, but she was not dumb as a rock like Rorona, and for the most part was the moe equivalent of a “Why am I the normal one here…?” character.
