Hatsune Miku Takes 1st Place in Super GT, Ika-chan 3rd

Miku fans are celebrating the first victory of Hatsune Miku in the latest Super GT racing event, with the virtual idol seizing pole position, closely followed by the vanguard of the cephalopod invasion in the form of IkaMusume with 3rd place.
The presence of the competing itasha at the race and its various recent qualifiers has given rise to some impressive sights:
In addition to Miku, IkaMusume, and a number of other cars unworthy of mention, Evangelion competed as well – though placing poorly.
Incidentally, Miku’s vehicle of choice is a BMW (and IkaMusume’s a Ferrari – apparently even the driver is a fan) – so much for Toyota.

Who can't win with a Hatsune Miku car?
Jimgainer actually was pretty close for a 90+min race. I can see why it lost though, it had no itasha powah. I think there's a Nismo GT-R for this series, but is probably sexy enough without itasha.
The Nismo GT-R is in the higher GT500 class (competing with the Honda HSV-010 GT and the Toyota/Lexus SC430), not GT300 class which is being discussed here.

indeed, winning in a a BMW, that's a whole class lower than the ferrari it beat (and several classes lower than the other "prototype" cars on the track) can only mean that the power of Miku granted them victory

I hope next year we will see an F1 team has anime characters on their cars (imagine Ferrari's cars has K-On characters or something like that on its body).
I think it costs about $50K to put a 6x6in sponsorship decal on an F1 car, unless there are drivers who are closet anime fans willing to put them on their helmets...
If only there's a game that allows me to mod my car like that...
