The closest we've actually been to 'world ending' was new years 1999-2000, because computers and computer powered systems had a real chance of actually fucking up. The date, being counted as the two last numbers of the year would potentially reset as there was nothing above 99. Nothing of importance happened then, and it's quite unlikely that anything will happen in the near future without us knowing. I really really wish I had the means to begin my collection back when Good Smile's figure wasn't 300-500 bucks on ebay. I fondly remember this anime, and really really liked it enough to want to commemorate it with a figure, but... too much for now. I'll probably end up going for this one, even if I like the other one a bit better.

It is a splended figurine indeed of Horo the Wise Wolf. But the figurine industry last year started pricing all the 7 inch and 8 inch tall ones at 110 + dollars and after the Kos-Mos III (even larger) bikini figurine for like 125 bucks + shipping and 3rd day handling, paying 150 bucks for these any more is out of the question. Unless they provide a service, which they can't after all since they are not alive.
