That’s one I’d put on a serious list like this. I’ve shown Death Note to a 40 year old coworker who doesn’t watch anime at all and he still liked it. It’s the kind of thing that isn’t immediately alien to any non-otaku. K-On is the opposite.

  No. I wasted too many hours watching Evangelion. Now I’ve seen it all before the reboot, and that’s time I’ll never get back. It was grimly depressing, the symbolism was random, and it fouled up mecha anime for a decade afterwards.

  QED. I watched Index to get to Railgun, and while I like both now, Railgun is where it’s at. I’m glad they went so far into it in Index II.

  Finely crafted dialog. It makes other scripts look like “people die when they are killed!” I loved the visual style too, but mostly it was the verbal sparring and wordplay that made me love Bakemonogatari.

  The anime was manic… It started awesome, promising good things to come. Then it cooled right down – ok, some exposition is good… still slow… slowing down… hang on, shouldn’t something happen? Slowing down to farming-sim levels of excitement… Then woah, a twist! A ramp-up at the last minute! OH MY GOD, THIS IS AWESO- what do you mean it’s over?! The Berserk anime totally trolled me.

  All shows could have a similar drop rate, making the most watched the most dropped… Not saying they do, but something like this is always a factor to some extent if you’re talking raw number of people who dropped each.

  They might as well… They’re known for making games with stupidly high production values, and they tried to do that half-assed with cheap labor and it didn’t work… Well, if they’re not willing to do what it takes to make a flagship title, they may as well go into retirement and make little cheap games like any other upstart.

  Same here. Hard bodies can be cool, but she’s left human anatomy far behind and charged into uncharted territory. Even the bizarre looking musclebuilding champions IRL are a more familiar shape than that. The characters in this game seem to have been drawn based on looking through a fisheye lens.

  I don’t even watch Kuroko’s Basketball, but after all the threats from that wannabe terrorist, getting events cancelled etc, I’m glad to see it so high if just to annoy the loser calling the threats in.
