  Some people just didn’t like EVA, in my case it doesn’t have to be about budget or shinji (hell, he actually reminded me of myself, a lot), also it’s not because “I didn’t understand how deep it was”, yes I did, period. And I still don’t like it, but every time I say that, I get shot at with arguments among the lines of the ones I listed before. IMO EVA’s biggest problem is that it took itself too seriously, and so do people…

  SE just doesn’t get it; their games aren’t selling because they suck… they don’t listen to their customers. FFXIV:ARR will fail for the exact same reason 1.0 failed because they didn’t change a damn thing that caused it to fail; boring combat and ankle deep character customization. It’s terrible, their combat is playable by a single key press by simply setting up a keyboard macro… that’s not fun. Character customization doesn’t exist… everyone’s wearing the same gear as everyone else… …

You don’t need a bloated 500 person development team or $100 million budget to make an incredible looking, great playing game.
