Lucky coincidence, I guess? It’s not like it’s there for the sole purpose of protecting Japan from nature. And it’s awkward how Sankaku only covers the U.S. efforts and completely forgets about everyone else’s input.

I won’t be surprised if 10 years from now western history books will preach America as the saviour of Japan from a M9.0 apocalypse. Even though, in reality, all they did was deploy some military vehicles that happened to be close-by since the end of WWII.

    Well, precisely. This might be a biased view, but then again, if you’d view the earthquake from a specific perspective, all the Japanese tragedy brought America was a new excuse to occupy Okinawa, as well as due to the enormous financial loses, any rumoured attempts of Japan to break the rule and start building its own military no longer have a future.
