I am not a collector of figures and not likely to become one, but I do like this. It's simple, elegant and enigmatic. As it should be.
the face is completely off... Rei's face is more triangular.
And she also has a sort vacant expression like Nagato from Haruhi. The expression in this figurine looks drugged, like she just woke up after a roofies binge and asking

I never really understood why Rei appealed to so many people. She was pretty lifeless throughout the series.

Watch it again and view it through the shows reality also as if you don't remember seeing it again to apperciate her in the original series. (probably with the Japanese Voice Actors language as well not any dubbed version).
That is a really nice looking figurine.
I understood the significance behind her character and the weight she had to carry, but she was still pretty lifeless and dull. No matter how deep the themes run, she simply was. Just like Shinji was incredibly whiny and unlikable, and Asuka was... for lack of a better work... a bitch. I just don't get why Rei has SO MANY fans, as though she were so likable a character.

What's more for an Otaku to Love? She is a 1:1 scale figurine!!! One that they can throw to the floor and bang All~~ Night~~~ LONG! She might squeal at first, but that's the draw in all Otaku fantasy dreams come True!!!

I have to agree with you. Not true enough to the original design. And ``beach queen'' Ayanami seems like an oxymoron, to put it mildly.
I think it's that her eyes are really far apart.
There just isnt enough fan love for Rei these days sadly...

anybody who knows anything about anatomy, and most people with eyeballs can tell this is a badly done figure, not horrible per say, but not something anybody with 20/20 vision and a brain would pay money for.
