oops sorry, that was just an amazing true story not a anime adaption or manga. It's so heavy and true and it should top any list of the non anime related type.
Crows Zero AND Shinigami no Ballad must be in this list... but how someone can forget the EPIC VERSION of NODAME CANTABILE!!!

At least NANA made it into the top ten, even if Nodame Cantabile did not. Now I'm waiting to see Kimi ni Todoke and Marimite live versions.
i also adored nodame, the main actress did such a wonderful job of portraying her character.
NANA got good music I suppose, however the acting is absolutely horrible by any standards.
Its a good MV and concerts but a poor adaption movie.
The acting in jdrama's are usually pretty bad across the board. I think that's why alot of japanese also prefer to watch kdramas instead.
Nodame Cantabile was solid though. I liked the GTO drama from way back as well.

Though I really have to agree with the #1 on the list. Hana Yori Dango is a really good J-drama.
GTO drama was awesome and better than anime (based on first four eps of anime, in any case). There was an OVA and a movie released and one of them was terrible, but I can't remember which one.
I'm surprised NANA is only 10th. I can't say the movie was spectacular, but I would have thought its popularity would raise it higher.
Honey & Clover is one movie I would have liked to see in the top 10.

I ;iked the live action adaptations GTO and Yankee-kun and Megane-chan too. Not so good as the original source but its still enjoyable.
They were tv series, not movies.
Hana Kimi never had a movie though. It's still on the list.

This is for MOVIES. The Nodame series rocked. The 2 part TV special was good. The 2 Nodame movies sucked hard. The story was played out by then and they were cashing in and didn't even give us a good ending. Same with the GTO movie, which didn't even have Fuyutsuki in it.

Battle Royale was originally a novel, not an anime or manga.
I love to see how japanese fans (The original fans of any anime and mangas) liked the Death Note movies. I can't really understand why half of us, the "western people", hated them in the first place.
I know most people will start pointing out that Tatsuya Fujiwara (Yagami Light's actor) didn't do the part. I would say: Are you blind? Yeah, I don't deny that maybe, in our perspective, he doesn't look a lot like Light, but does that matter? For me, he was indeed able to catch Light's creppy, manipulative and badass personality perfectly, and even was able to put a little of himself there.
I'm not saying the movies are superior to the anime and manga, but I still like them a lot, because they offer you another version of Death Note.
