  Also so cheap they could not hire good engineers to make a true next generation console. Really too cheap to pay IBM to make a six core Xenon or go with a real X86 chip and a separate GPU? Also apparently too cheap to allow use of used games. It’s only salvation is if pirates crack this thing wide open like they did the original Xbox. Yes some times piracy actually helps over all sales.

  Screwing over the used game market means it’s safe to say it’ll be a massive failure. I expect MS to eihter do a 180 on their used game policy or these to soon end up being sold on shop at home channels deep discount. The eighth generation has turned out to be a huge disappointment. Also EA sucks radioactive donkey balls and the sooner that company goes under the better.

  The IBM Xenon was massively cheap for what it was though still extremely cutting edge for 2005.

  I expected the next Xbox to either be an enhanced Xenon with more cores and a better GPU or a quad core Intel based system. The former would be a very logical progression as the next console could have been backwards compatible with the 360 and the latter would have fit in with the partnership they had with Intel over the years. I wonder what kind of stuff AMD had to pull to get two console makers to adopt Jaguar? Though Sony’s looks like it was a desperation move on their part.
