If you're living in a country where the majority - especially the vast majority - is against a law but the law is still kept in place against the wishes of the people, then you're living under Tyranny.

I'm tired of Japanese whining about this ban just because they can't get their rocks off to little girls. Any manga writer with any sort of talent can create good manga with attractive girls without having to resort to illegal activities. I don't agree with having underage kids in sexual positions in the west, or in Japan. Pedophiles are trying to act like it's an attack on "freedom of speech." They don't give a damn about that. They just want to jack off. Let's be real here. The only thing that makes sense is that if they were going to outlaw this they need to outlaw everything like it. Picking and choosing is stupid and DOES make it clear it's an attack on specific groups of people. Now THAT I can't agree with regardless of whether or I agree or disagree with the topic.

I think you forget that this doesn't just cross with sexually-explicit content. Plus this survey only is a very small number of the population of Tokyo. I don't think we can really say 80% is against the ban. You never know though. From the lack of news I'm hearing on Sankaku it looks to me like the politicians feel pretty relaxed right now. I don't see anything that implies they are sweating like mad due from public pressure.

I'm all for the ban going away and stuff, liberty, etc. But I do wish the anime industry would get better than this... Moe, harem, moe, harem, 1 or 2 different, moe, harem... It's too much already. I'm not sayint there can't be moe and harem shows, I used to like them when a 14yo and others have the same rights, but come on... ONLY one thing is terrible for any industry. Too few different stuff. I looked at this year's calendar and the only thing that interested me a bit was that Level-E show I still haven't watched. And the Berserk movie, but that's just one little movie... C'mon Japan, put yourself together!
