Unless it shitted you into sleeping through 2/3 of the episodes, you might have seen that most of the attacks were carried out by the villagers during daytime, when the vampires were all asleep and vulnerable. They kind of stuck together at night, so there were very little chance for the vampires to attack them then.

And no they don’t get any quicker or more agile or more manipulative when they become a vampire. The manipulation only works if they had bitten the victims.

And also, I don’t think Tatsumi got shot in the head.

  you’re not sick, you’re just a wannabe. real sick bastards wouldn’t admit that they are sick. it’s just an anime, deal with it! shiki is one of the animes which has many but tiny illogical parts that just doesn’t make sense. i also could tell you many failures that i have seen during watching the whole series, but screw those failures! i just enjoyed watching it :)

  To top it off, some fanservice in this would only be keeping faithful to the games, actually.
