The combination of Hatsune Miku, Kinect and a head-mounted display now offers some quite startling virtual reality possibilities…
The video, which utilises a a PC running Kinect and MikuMiku Dance with the addition of an HMD for a promising if crude virtual reality-on-a-shoestring setup:
Sadly, Kinect’s complete failure in Japan means a Kinect-enabled Project Diva with modern graphics will remain a fantasy, but MikuMiku Dance may yet offer an alternative.

They COULD sell Kinect as a standalone and PC modders and PC gamers in Japan will have a FIELD DAY.

As crude as this demonstration looks, I say HELL FUCKING YES. Possible implementation of virtual reality setup in the future (vision/hearing headset + body sensor).

It's not like you can feel how soft the boobs you'd grab. It's pure visual and nothing else.
It'd be a great application for MMORPGs to give the perception that you're living in a fantasy world and can interact or change it. However, it won't be any different as a sex toy from what we already have.
It'll take some kind of technology that can also transfer the feeling ON THE SKIN to totally make it worthwhile to fap with, though we may have to wait another millenium because such technology would involve the brain and how we perceive 'senses'.

Fuck, if they released a dancing project diva I would buy a Kinect and ps3 JUST to play that.
I take it you mean the Xbox 360 as Sony killed the chances of hacking third party hardware on the PS3 when they killed Linux.
A variant of MMD ported to the PS3 that takes advantage of the Cell processor would be nice better physics.
Though on the PC GPGPU could do the same.
I think MMD only uses the X86 cpu for physics which is why the the physics well are glitchy as a lot of short cuts have to be done.
Kinect was conceived in America, but Japan makes the best uses for it.
