yeah, most are perspective failure though..
Tsuchi's fight with Oriana on the other hand was animated well (although a dark scene).
it's always a shame to see an anime not on par with the quality in the last episode especially if it's much worse than it.
hopefully they will fix it on the dvd/blu ray release :D
I noticed how often the body proportions were off throughout the episode too.
Touma's warped face from the start of Season II is spreading to the rest of the body and turning contagious.
(Meanwhile, I eagerly await that P, S & G post.)

My God, what the hell happened to our anime?!
Zakuro's a good show, probably my favorite of the season. But pissing on Index with Zakuro is like a cat pissing on a dog. The index universe (counting Railgun) is up above 50 episodes, while Zakuro seems programmed as a short season 12-13 episode series. Give Zakuro a 2nd and 3rd season and see if their quality holds up.
Honestly, all the pictures look as if all the characters had their heads stuck on later. IE they look as if they are heads on sticks.
Next, all the arms and legs look disproportionate. The arms don't seem to be the same as the previous episodes at all.
The arms and legs are reaching for the 90s, reminding me of marmalade boy. The heads on the bodies reminds me of kids pasting heads on sticks. 'sigh'. I'm not looking forward to see such a change in animation.
The problem is with J.C.Staff doing FOUR anime this season...so staff and resources get thinnen out and overall quality drops across all the anime they are doing...
But I haven't watched Zakuro yet (just started watching), so can't comment on whether or not its animation quality holds up or not.

Downvote it as many times as you like, but it's true. There's no comparison in terms of art and animation between the two - Otome Youkai Zakuro looks as if it's from a different company altogether.

animation is merely catching up to overall quality
the first season turned into a god awful mess after a few episodes and this time it was even faster
this show has been totally outranked by its spin-off and they should have realised it
It's because the spinoff had so much less plot behind it that they tried hard to make up for it in every other area.
Actually if I was not mistaken, Railgun, and even Index I was the ONLY anime J.C.Staff were doing during the season it was aired so it would have had better allocation of staffs and resources, thus better overall animation quality...
But for this season, J.C.Staff is doing Index II, Bakuman, AND Milky Holmes...that's 3 anime in the same season! So animation quality went down the gutter...
Minor correction...I have just start watching "Otome Youkai Zakuro", and it turns out it is by J.C.Staff as well! So they are doing FOUR...yes FOUR anime this season!!

The "bleed through 9000 holes" spell was surprising and out of the blue, but animated so terribly it made me laugh after the initial reaction.

Kind of sad to see such a horribly animated episode after it's stunning quality in the beginning. It was not just mediocre, it was downright bad.
