Japanese asked to rank the male mangaka they consider the most skilled at drawing eye-wateringly cute girls share a list encompassing some of the masters of bishoujo art, as well as a few whose presence on the list is frankly something of a mystery.

this list is so messed up... i'm not even laughing.
This isn't a competition of "cute", this is a list of "most widely known styles of drawing girls from popular games/shows etc".
The most surprising fact about this list (in my opinion): Kakifly?
And what about Ken Akamatsu?

3. Masakazu Katsura (I”s)
Nice.
Moe = cute indeed. Kakifly only made it because of the anime adaptation which is no surprise, but the funny thing about it is that it was the anime, rather than the manga version which used the "cute style" people were going for here. The mangaka only started to mimic that style afterward.
And whilst that's not the ideal picture I would've used to represent Takeshi Obata, in any case my hat's off to that artist.

Needs Kumeta Kouji. Kitsu Chiri and especially Komori Kiri should be more than enough.

Akira Toriyama's artwork should be buff girl rather than cute girl.
This list seems to have been compiled without any type of rhyme or reason. Maybe half the artists in the top 10 deserve it, and at least two of them don't deserve to be anywhere near it. #1 on the list draws characters one misshapen nose away from looking like Crayon Shin-chan.
I'd find this list more credible if they said "We had to pick so many artists from the 80s, so many from the 90s, and so many from this decade." Because that's what it looks like.

WTF with Akira Toriyama ? he draws ok but not enough cuteness =.=, but he draws Goku superbly ( and that's why I read Dragon Ball, not because of the cute girls in it =_= )

My thoughts exactly. I can agree with 3, 5, 7, 8 and 9 but the others don't fit exactly into the cute category imo.

Akira Toriyama + cute? Does not compute. Every single one of his characters have the same face.
That can be said the same with Tony Taka ..
For me personally, Kabuki Kentaro, Masakazu Katsura and Kōsuke Fujishima belongs there.. The rest, not so much.
I do enjoys Obata's girl tho, but he is more hot and matured.
Still, nothing beats Sano Toshihide, Takeda Hiromitsu and Shoji Satoh :D
