@01:03 You need a likable male lead. I can't stand Touma so I couldn't enjoy any of the scenes with Index & Touma, but I loved Yuuichi in Kanon which really made the series stand out even though the girls weren't all that special.

Not necessarily worse, more like I think Kirino's portrayal is pretty realistic (aside from liking eroge etc), that's just what many girls that age are like.
Then again, If the male lead actually responds to the girls it becomes School Days all over again =(
