In no way reinforcing the “all late night anime is porn” stereotype, Hyakka Ryoran Samurai Girls continues much as it started – with plenty of samurai schoolgirls mysteriously eager to shed their clothes in battle, all in the best possible taste of course.
The anime itself seems to have suffered an encounter with Ika Musume, and come off the worse for it – the good bits have all been splattered with ink:
Hmm, it may be that the censoring happens in post-production rather than done by the networks. That's why there isn't the regular black or white light but ink blotches instead.
Ink is just as bad as steam or flashlights, because it covers more than just the fucking nipples and cunts. What the fuck, why do they even bother to show this crap on TV when they hide everything anyway?
DIE you damn censors. DIE horribly!
Heheh, would be fun. We'd have to make sure poor Ika doesn't die from fear of being eaten herself, though.
I'd eat her, but I wouldn't eat her, if you know what I mean.
+++++
Well i Think i am the only one who likes this style of censoring or ? Sure i would enjoy it without that but.. So you enjoy the anime "more" for the style the anime is~ Not only for the eroge parts
I approve of it because it it oddly fitting with the style as opposed to the rays of light or steam from nowhere. The ink it actually used a lot for other things in the show as well so it hardly seems out of place.
The artist would defend that as "accidents" because their low pay forbids them to get decent ink-pens, hence the blots which "coincidentally" covers nipples.
yeah and by coincidens the ink splotches even make some noise when appearing on the screen (but what really bothered me in the first ep was that they appeared even in non ero scenes)
Censoring is shit, but at least the blotches are an interesting eye catch. Still, Ika Musume was a bad girl barfing all over the place. We have to "punish" her. ^_^
Yeah the ink is annoying but at least fits the art style, unlike the miniaturised supernovae or power of christ or whatever the hell those light rays in other series are supposed to be.
The art for this show is pretty cool and experimental. But does it work? Not too well. Everything's too close to the screen and the coloring is so artsy you can't get very drawn in. Not to mention the annoying ink splotches all over the damn place.
While the censoring is retarded, I found the dark ink splotch style of it fit fairly well with the overall grittiness of the anime. It's more interesting than steam or bright light, at any rate...
I was VERY excited about this show and it even has gals from "K-On!" doing voices but the Ink Splatter gag - Really RUINED my first impression of Ep#1.
I couldn't even get through it all. I was at the 15 minute mark and just got annoyed. Now it's on my "C List"- which is anime's I Might go back to if we enter a season where nothing good is airing for 3 months.
If there is a channel (Like AT-X or whoever show H.O.T.D uncensored)- I Might care again. To think all that time, production, and advertising for a show Intentionally Ruined with Ink Spots!
Hmm, it may be that the censoring happens in post-production rather than done by the networks. That's why there isn't the regular black or white light but ink blotches instead.
future anime
just use 3d n toonshade :D
no more asshole shit quality drawing
censor is a no no :(
*waits for blu ray/dvd release.
it's still watchable though :D
That's one of the worts censorship
- even rays of light coming from the floor or clouds of steam seem much better...
The artistic quality of this rivals that of masterpieces in the late 19th century.
I think almost anything is better than the 19th century. The 1800s were boring for art :P
is kugirie doing the voice of sanada?
i thought so
She is.
loli + dfc + sukumizu + Kugi Rie = epic win !
I see a DFC in pic30 :P
Yupyup. ^______^
dvd blu-ray.
for the real show.
tv for the preview as usual.
business as usual.
is there any "inkless" version or I need to wait untill the dvd arrives?
ahhh.. the sepia spots...lol...
Couldn't stand the stupid faces in this anime
Haters will Hate
Censors will Censor
i think this 1 want use buy a DvD for uncensored version
Where do the first and last three pictures come from?
Censorship: Turns men gay every day.
annoying show. might aswell just wait for dvd or BD release
Ink is just as bad as steam or flashlights, because it covers more than just the fucking nipples and cunts. What the fuck, why do they even bother to show this crap on TV when they hide everything anyway?
DIE you damn censors. DIE horribly!
Damn you Ikamusume! Stop censoring this show!
Can't wait for the DVD's\BR's to come out!
The animators really wanted to stick it in them. But alas, they end up messing the piece and just photoshopped the white splatter marks black.
I like the dark outline art style and the ink blobs oddly fit the style.
Agreed. The artwork looks cash. Good shit.
The first episode came out a month earlier than it was suppose to. Second one came out like last week (about a week earlier)
The censoring is...different.
What does the scouter say?
Power score round about 5 million, so over 9000
nothing, as the black ink block the view.
The part of Ika Musume censoring Hyakka Ryouran is flawless, she's the new censor.
And for once in a long time we meet an ecchi anime without a useless, forgetable or pervert male lead.
I'm just gonna wait for the DVD/BD releases
Bad Ika! >_> ^_^
Anybody up for some Ikasumi Wakamezake?
Heheh, would be fun. We'd have to make sure poor Ika doesn't die from fear of being eaten herself, though.
I'd eat her, but I wouldn't eat her, if you know what I mean.
i dont really like to eat sqiud
You won't make an exception for Ika?
Your lack of dedication is disturbing.
Epicness! The sister to Ikki Tousen?
I repeat... Interesting censoring method
+++++

Wouldn't creamy white liquid similar to watered down milk be better?

it becomes scary when this "coincidence" continues for the whole season...
interesting yes, kill joy yes, needed no!
Censoring is shit, but at least the blotches are an interesting eye catch. Still, Ika Musume was a bad girl barfing all over the place. We have to "punish" her. ^_^
@schrobby
Odds are the punishment will get censored too.
Yeah the ink is annoying but at least fits the art style, unlike the miniaturised supernovae or power of christ or whatever the hell those light rays in other series are supposed to be.
Beams of light and fog are pure annoyance. Whoever employs those should be neutered.
Someone PLEASE raid the broadcasting stations and take ika-chan away...or at least seal her mouth!
with a cock?
And the awating for BDs starts once again...
was ika musume a part of this anime?
IT'SSSS.... OOOOOVEEERRR
NNIIIINNNNEEEEE THOUUUUSAAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNNDDD!!!!!!!1!!!!!1!!1!1!!11!11!!1111!
If I'm not mistaken, the AT-X version is also censored
AT-X has it censored as well unfortunately.
The uncensored pics above are from the promo
AT-X versionplz. (屮゚Д゚)
ITS OVER 9000!

Lol. I had a DBZ moment during that second episode where the glasses girl goes, "Her power......it's over 5 MILLION!!!!!!!!"
I was hoping AT-X would have it uncensored, I guess I'll keep watching Ika Hyakka Ryoran Musume.
It's true, the show has a sweet style to it so I can look past the censorship during the TV version.
But not literally..
While the censoring is retarded, I found the dark ink splotch style of it fit fairly well with the overall grittiness of the anime. It's more interesting than steam or bright light, at any rate...
I'm not a fan of this kind of anime but I really like the art on this one, might pick it up when it's released in BD.
I might as well watch it.
I was VERY excited about this show and it even has gals from "K-On!" doing voices but the Ink Splatter gag - Really RUINED my first impression of Ep#1.
