A man who became enraged after missing an elevator fell to his death in the shaft after ramming his way through the doors in his electric wheelchair.
The video of the incident has proven popular viewing:
According to reports, the 40-year-old Korean man, crippled some years ago in a traffic accident and since confined to a wheelchair, fell 15m onto the top of the station elevator.
He is thought to have died instantly from multiple broken bones and a smashed skull.
Doctors report he had not been drinking prior to the incident.

I think that.. when a person loses certain functions of their body, or becomes crippled, something in their minds can die too.
This guy was obviously frustrated beyond good common sense. Depending on your sense of religion, at least he is in a better place now (hopefully), or will be reborn into a better life (also hopefully).
I ain't that optimistic myself. I hope that his soul gets to re-watch the last moments of his life until he understands what screwed up.
The thing is... the elevator has clear glass plating, he can clearly see the elevator going down and he still proceeds to ram the door open.
Before seeing that I actually had pity for the guy, after see the clear glass and seeing the elevator go down. Now... not so much.
What surprised me the most was not the guy falling down the shaft but how easy he managed to smash the metal doors in.

After reviewing the video, I can clearly say that the woman in the elevator did not see him. She was fixing her hair with her back to him, and the she moved to the side to press the button. That guy is an idiot, couldn't he wait a couple of more minutes. It's not like he is in a hurry to do anything. Also, when he rammed against the door for the first time (I am not counting the one where he could not stop in time) and then, he saw that it was on the verge of collapsing, why did he rammed it a second time?
Also the elevator doors seemed like they were made of cardboard and aluminum foil.
I'm sure they would not meet any safety code in the west.

No they're not. Elevator doors come off their tracks all the time. They're designed to hang, not hold up to pressure. I've derailed them just by leaning too much when they open. Although I was... um... distracted at the time. :D
