It’s not even an attempt to justify it, it’s just pathetic. Pirates have a lot of excuses, like ‘I pirate to try it out, if I like it then I buy it’ or ‘they shouldn’t charge so much for a game so I pirate it’, etc. All lies.

Look at World of Goo. No copy protection, I believe it was reasonably priced, and still they estimate only 10-20% of the players actually paid for their copies. I played the demo, enjoyed it but at the time couldn’t afford it, so I went without.

Pirates are just the worst kind of criminals, the self-deluded ones who feel entitled to something without paying for it. It’s because of them that games are expensive, riddled with copy protection and other inconveniences, and if you know someone who plays pirated games, break their fingers, because they’re stealing from *you*.
