Its cool that the first picture that streaks accross this website when I got on it just now is a naked girl that is censored standing up(I haven't seen this anime yet, give me a break). Its disheartening that its censored but also arousing at the same time. Beautiful.

Not entirely, each anime character has different eyes and whatnot but i see what you mean. Remember, all of these characters are drawn by the same artist so the artist expresses his style of drawing through the design of the character...now unfortinately his style of drawing is highly reconizable because of the amount of characters (Which is a crapton) in this show.

Your right, to an extent. But if you look at Hartmann and then Sakamoto, they do look a fair bit different.

^^^She is from Karlsland (Germany) and is in the same Air Force as Barkhorn and Hartmann. She is just famous and gained the title "African Star" because of her success and whatnot in the African campaign.

Since this is based on WWII it should be noted that MANY german soldiers where stationed in Africa as it was one of the major fronts during the second half of the war. She's basically a pilot that fought over there and won her title.

Ahhh Hanna-Justina, such an awesome lass. This episode was brilliant, and if you've read the manga with Shirley and Lucchini when they are in Africa and they meet her, it makes the bath scene all the funnier :D

Also for those in need of more reading materials featuring her, the bi-lingual manga "Witches of the Sphinx" is about her and the Afrika Corps. I've got both volumes out so far and can highly recommend them ^_^

Now if only I could get ahold of a jacket like hers, she'd be an awesome witch to cosplay ;)

She's "from Africa" because she used to be based in Africa. She was born in Karlsland.

She is based on the WW2 Luftwaffe ace Hans-Joachim Marseille, who was also known as "Star of Africa" because most of his 158 kills were made while flying over North Africa during the Western Desert Campaign (i.e. Rommel vs. Montgomery and all that).
