A doctor who drugged his pregnant nurse girlfriend in order to secretly cause her to miscarry has escaped a prison sentence.
The 36-year-old Tokyo physician advised his pregnant girlfriend, who also happened to one of his nurses, to take contraction-inducing pills, with the ruse that they were vitamins which were “good for pregnant women.”
Soon after, to further ensure that the pregnancy was terminated, he gave her an intravenous “nourishment” drip with a drug that had similar effects. The contraceptive combo was successful, and he had found himself rid of his fetal problem some six weeks after conception.
The pregnancy initially proved to be an issue when the doctor attempted to end their relationship, as he wanted to marry a different woman. After she refused to terminate the pregnancy, he made the decision to take matters into his own hands.
Prosecutors requested a five-year prison sentence for the doctor, but after his confession of guilt the ruling judge gave him a sentence of three years – suspended for 5 years, making it likely he will serve no time if he can keep his nose clean.
The judge presiding was not however very lenient in speech, saying he was “egotistical and selfish” and that “that he deserves strong social censure for his criminal acts as a doctor whose duty it is to respect life is undeniable.”
The judge also cited the unavoidable social ramifications of the man’s actions as reasoning for the light punishment: he had not only been fired, but also sworn to no longer continue his medical career at all.
It is not clear if the scandal affected the man’s nuptials, but to say the least, statistics suggest the average Japanese bride is likely to be less than receptive to her prospective husband suddenly losing not only his job but also his prestigious career as well.

The embryo was only six weeks old not even a fetus yet and thus did not have a functional cortex let alone the brains of a fish yet so it was not murder.
An embryo of a chicken ,a mouse,or a lizard at the same stage of development is almost identical in appearance and functionality.
It’s only 11mm long at that stage it could be miscarried without her ever knowing she was pregnant.
Indeed the human body does abort many early embryos because they are defective in some manner this is partly why deformities are fairly rare.
I have no issue at all with abortions this early as it’s not a person yet.
Besides not everyone can make a good parent sometimes an abortion is for the best.
But I do feel late term abortions ie those past 5 months should only be done for the following reasons r♥♥e,incest,danger to the mother,and severe fetal deformity.
There’s the religious definition (whether you believe in souls), the psychological definition (having a personality), the physical definition (whether you can feel pain) and the scientific definition (human life technically comes into existence at conception).
Aborting a fetus at an early stage breaks the first and last but not the ones inbetween.

Wow, sounds terrible. I guess his life is kind of over because he can’t practice as a doctor anymore, but still, seems like maybe he got off easy?
The doctor could just become “depressed”, move to the nurse’s home and become a NEET there (either this or the male equivalent to a housewive), planning to stay this way forever.
Maybe this way, with no future money in mind the woman would rethink about all the matter…
In my opinion, what if you are the baby? Stop saying that it was the doc right to force an abortion, or the mom rights to keep the baby, what about the baby right to live? In fetal state which is about 6 weeks, in medical context is actually alive, most people think they are dead, but they are dead wrong! I know cause I seen how a abortion is done and the MRI picture of the fetus during abortion
The guy was being selfish? What a load of crap. That woman should’ve aborted if te man didn’t want the child. It’s selfish of the woman to make the guy take care of something he didn’t want anyway. I’m disgusted by the hypocrisy surrounding that lawsuit.
