To Love-Ru Manga Restarts

After being canned with “that” kind of ending, To Love-Ru is to be revived as a “spin-off” manga featuring the same characters.
The new title is to begin serialisation in the October issue of Jump Square.
Coming on the heels of a new To Love-Ru anime, it seems the decision to terminate the original manga may have been a rash one.
What will become of Mayoi Neko Overrun, by the same author and currently being serialised, is not clear, but many are speculating that it will conclude soon.

Being serialized in Jump Square will be interesting to see how To Love Ru changes.
Rosario + Vampire changed significantly when it moved from WSJ to Jump Square so may be the author will be free to pursue the kind of story he wouldn't have been able to before due to the constraints of WSJ (based on popularity polling).
We may even get a reboot, which would be super interesting.
Rosario + Vampire was never from the Weekly Shonen Jump, it get only one chapter published on it because the old magazine that used to publish it (Monthly Shonen Jump) get cancelled (just as Claymore).
Jump SQ is only other name for the old Monthly Shonen Jump.
And no, it's still a magazine that follow the same estracture of your old and convencional known Shonen Jump.
And i doubt that the change of magazine will make any big change on ToLOVE-Ru.

You could tell the illustrator missed drawing To-Love-Ru as well when he constantly add the characters in Mayoi Neko Overrun.
Say whatever the fuck you want about the ecchi bull shit, but that manga was TERRIBLE..
There was nothing redeeming in it, the anime was a FAILURE, and the manga's sales/popularity where also ridiculously low..
How the hell could you be excited for another season of the anime or defend the series..

I wouldnt be surprised if the two were put together, There were alot of random appearances of love-ru characters that were in the mayoi neko overrun manga, but i wouldnt really know how they would make a plot out of that.
This will only be complete if they feature Riko more often, I don't know why, but I have this obscure love of crossdressing characters and official genderbenders.

this provably wont be a popular opinion but i think this is a mistake.
i love to love ru, i hated the why it ended and i hated that it did, but i loved the true harem ending.
all this could possibly do is continue a manga that had a great ending, if not a bit rushed, and force a 1 person non harem ending.

It was first cancelled after the falling jump polls but was brought back simply because there is enough demand by the fans (the ruckus after it ended) and plus the fact that the anime is happening = makes it all worthwhile for the publisher again. Just tells you the publisher made a bad decision and pulled it way too fast in the beginning. It was still a commercially viable product and vehicle. They are just going to milk it to its death. Win for both author and publisher.

Awesome news. To Love Ru was one of those fanservice manga and anime that actually made me laugh (shock of shocks) and had a good art style, and I liked the characters. Glad to see the artist seems to be doing better personally as well, to be able to resume it.
New magazine, does that mean the chapters will be more ecchi without having to wait for the uncensored volumes?
