Oh, Yamakan. This is pretty pathetic. He was obviously trying to make a point here to ridicule K-ON!. First he 'forgets' her name, then he puts her in front of the camera and purposefully takes her head off.

Let's not forget this isn't the first time he's taken a jab at kyoani. Just like his EE 'apology', this makes him look like nothing more than an angry and bitter ex-employee looking to defame his former employer while gaining publicity for himself.

He's also quick to level criticism at kyoani and other directors (Shinbo, Miyazaki), but what has he done himself since leaving kyoani? Let's see, directed Kannagi, made a quick OVA for Tonari 801-chan (a project he picked up solely because kyoani dropped it), and some freelance work. Oh ya, he also directed a live action movie that's been receiving some pretty heavy criticism.

I appreciate Yamakan's skills as a director, but he just needs to shut his mouth and work. He should be concentrating on building up his own portfolio with successes before he starts criticizing others.

It is most unfortunate that a clash between the brilliant minds of Yamakan and those at Kyo-Ani has become this acrimonious ever since that fateful decision by the studio to relieve Yamakan of his role as director of Lucky Star after merely four episodes. It would indeed seem he is still bitter at that decision.

Haruhi 1 had that magic touch due to Yamakan's role as casting director of the show, his involvement in the Hare Hare Yukai ED has contributed to the ED video attaining legendary status.

Without him, Haruhi 2 seemed to have gone astray, as Yamakan would have made sure his reservations concerning the ridiculous Endless Eight idea that has alienated so many fans have gone through the numbskulls of those marketing execs at Kadokawa. Not to mention those execs trolling the fans and Haruhi-ists about a "new announcement" about nothing, taking their support for granted.
