For the first time ever Aya Hirano has spoken publicly of her love life, sparking off instant otaku fury before the revelations have even aired.
In a recent interview she reports (about 9 minutes in) she has “revealed all” about her love life in an upcoming variety programme episode to air at the start of August – “It’s up to you what you think, but don’t hate me!” she says, paradoxically.
With her TV talent appearances for the start of August having now risen to no less than 5 different programmes in a single week, it also seems she is indeed thrusting headlong into the world of TV talent whilst leaving her mouldering career as seiyuu-idol behind.
Revelations about her love life are sure to alienate completely her creepy otaku fanbase, suggesting she may well be intent on abandoning her idol/seiyuu credentials completely.
Even the mere admission that she has a love life has already stoked 2ch’s substantial seiyuu stalking component (along with their even more numerous detractors) into a frenzy:
“‘Don’t hate me’ – she thinks anyone still likes her?”
“So she’ll tell us what positions she likes?”
“A bitch making bitch talk doesn’t change the fact she’s already a bitch.”
“Fans who stop liking her because of this weren’t real fans to start with!”
“Don’t dump us!”
“She can say whatever she likes, if she does it in Konata’s voice all will be forgiven.”
“I hope she’s prepared for the reaction of all those creepy otaku…”
“There’s no way any creepy otaku would forgive an idol who had a boyfriend for even a second.”

Should I take this as a sign that her decision to leave her seiyuu career behind is not half-hearted? 'Cause there'd be no going back after this; saying that those otaku are caustic is an understatement after all.
Good for her (I mean that hopefully she is giving the finger to all those creepy otaku who obsess about her being a virgin forever). I hope she doesn't abandon all seiyuu work altogether though.
Three words. Haters gonna hate.
otakus are the ugly little mean kids tht hope they will recieve some love because there lonely. but if they dont get ur attention they blow up and start rampaging and get a little tantrum over it
“She can say whatever she likes, if she does it in Konata’s voice all will be forgiven.”
This dude knows what he likes.
Wonder if Aya lovelife was a girl?
good for her. haters gonna hate, if she made a simple mistake(like wearing a bikini wrong) people made fun of her, when she leaves the industry people still hate her. i mean WTF is wrong with people. it's not like she's doing anything to annoy you or something.
From continue as the voice of Suzumiya Haruhi there is no problem, I'm never going to her bed.
Otaku need to learn how to deal. Really, this overreaction to any kind of social life by seiyuu, among other bizarre extremities, has become far too normalized. It's like someone makes a joke on the net, a few more take it seriously and copy it, then it becomes "okay." Well, no, it isn't... stalkers, death threats, screeds against people who make their media because a character is "second hand" and so on are signs of severe and dangerous mental health issues, and in some cases, shameful lack of mental maturity.
If she can find a BF, good for her. We should all be so lucky to find an SO.
She'll probably need to watch for people approaching her carrying duffel bags of sharp objects....
Intended for whoever she mentioned in that interview, of course.
I don't care what she do with her career or pussy as long as she keep voicing Haruhi in the future
No more Haruhi.... YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!
“A bitch making bitch talk doesn’t change the fact she’s already a bitch.”
WOW, what a charming fellow. Ladies must be all over him.
3DPD
Good for her. I knew there was a reason why I liked the lady; she's about as honest as you can be in that screwy profession, by my estimation.
I hope she finds peace amongst the rage, and that angry, introverted would-be fans don't do anything stupid.
You know, fuck it. I vote Aya Hirano DOESN'T go back into voice-acting, if people are gonna be such raging dickheads.
Just because she provides the voice of one or two characters you like does not automatically mean it's okay to obsess over her. Go worry about Konata getting a boyfriend, and essentially? Fuck off, 2ch.
omg, so she is human? who would have thougt that ;P
i dont understand those otakus -.-
do they just hate her because they will never get a girlfriend?
Booo!
She could not handle being an ideal seiyuu.
Now perish.
hehehe
I would never doubt her again if she did an entire interview in Konatas voice.
if u r a real fan, then u'll forgive her, deshou? even if she left the otaku world, it's like i won't see her more often then, because i watched animes with her voice in there, but i don't watch her shows because i can't understand it even a lil bit..
and why do u make aya away from the reality, she's only a person, she got the rights to love as everyone.. right? she's already 22 or 23.. she's already an adult, duh? u dun want her to grow up lonely and alone, r u?
---rei---
i don't care what she like or does..aya hirano is still my no.1 seiyuu. and i'm will rooting for her. as a fans.
i awa
She's totally going to admit she's a lesbian, leaving her fans horribly confused.
They'll hate the fact she's dating, but girl on girl is hot. So yeah.
Oh yeah, she's a normal human
creepy virgin only otakus will never get to lay a hand on her
A little sad if shes going to have less seiyuu works, I love her voice
She needs to die so the anime world could finally move on. BURN THE WITCH!
Man! 2ch is having a field day with all this crap....
Jesus Christ let the woman have a love life and let it rest.
dude i'd be scared as hell if i were her date.
will miss her...hope she will retuen to seyuu-ing =(
Less possibility with all these negative reactions, and raging otakus. I'm pretty sure she's already feeling offended.
I gave up all hope on Lucky Star season 2.
I can't possibly hate the one that did the voice of Haruhi and Konata. =w=
I'm glad that she has a love life ( at least, she has a life unlike 2ch's people) but her boyfriend had better don't walk in a deserted alley at night.
“Fans who stop liking her because of this weren’t real fans to start with!”
Completely agree.
Who the hell cares about this voice actress anymore? Just leave her alone. There are other ones to report about.
Stupid otaku don't realize that Aya never intended to be a seiyuu. She originally was a singer and aspiring tv personality but she failed on that in her early years, so she was forced to be a seiyuu.
Rage of the Otakus
If Aya had a boyfriend, well I would think of her band's guitarist only.
i still don't like her, but it is an improvement
LOL
i dont get it, why so serious ?
Maybe it's already been mentioned by none-the-less:
If she can get so many TV roles and have them all play out, maybe it's just better money (and/or she's looking for change she, herself, as an individual can consider moving into a positive future). If she can make more money live-on-TV, she might as well do it while she's "young", even if it pisses off a certain portion of her fan base. If she can offer "talent" on TV and not just be limited to how she can manipulate her voice, then more power to her and hopefully she does get more compensation than merely being a seiyuu/idol.
you have to fell sad though, if you had a crush on her that is ... oh well life goes on
Not for her career.
....right, the career she's abandoning. Voluntarily. For a more... legitimate career.
lol i cant help but think "this is what you get bastards of 2ch" after their comments on the shutting down of OM. im glad they were betrayed by their beloved seiyu.
lol clearly anon is butthurt
trying to link two completely unrelated shit to make himself feel better
Stupid comment is stupid...
Seriously. Whether she does leave voice acting over live TV does not mean she is "betraying her fans" or anything of the sort. Humans have a natural desire to reach higher places, and the more they get, the more they want.
OM deserved to be taken down because it was doing something illegal (don't try to defend it, you'll loose) regardless of how much it helped people delve deeper into the more obscure titles found there.
Nowhere between those two things do I see a relation other than Hirano's prospective jobloss at the hands of piracy.
“I hope she’s prepared for the reaction of all those creepy otaku…”
That scares me...
Well i'll still think of her the same as i do now, she has a nice voice i don't really watch a lot of TV stuff so i probably won't get to hear it as often, if she keeps up with the singing i'll still gladly listen to her songs so nothing really changes, hope she does well with the career change :)
