Funimation released the DVDs uncensored, so I'm not sure why you're bringing them into this equation. They're dealing with their own government regulations about what can be shown on what channels, which Funimation or even 4kids for that matter, have nothing to do with.

4Kids would butcher Strike Witches worse than they did One Piece. The scenes with nudity? Gone. The scenes where the girls are parading around in their not-pantsu? They'd be wearing leggings like Perrine, only it'll be completely opaque 'leggings' instead of kinda see-through 'stockings'. Most of the violence would end up on the cutting room floor. Episode 7 of season 1 (the nopan episode) would be gone completely, and the censorship of the other 11 episodes would bring the total down to about 5 or 6.

Meh. Everybody's going to complain, but censorship is really what you want anyways. Otherwise you could download a hentai or a porn. If not the lights, you'd enjoy the censorship of her panties. The closeness of it, while it's still out of reach is what you like, leaving the rest to your imagination. Like a carrot on a rope, you'll never know if it's sweet or not, but you'll chase it.

No, they don't. A lot of people, like myself, think "CENSORED! HELL NO! NOT BUYING THE DVD EITHER!" thinking that the DVD is censored as well.

Simply put: CENSORSHIP IS NOT NECESSARY! With the V-chip and other things (and the MANDATORY rating that most countries have of TV shows)...... there is no 'FOR THE CHILDREN!' argument anymore.

Sadly the "For the children" arguement can still be made...as stupid as it is they can blame it on not being able to supervise their children 24/7. And because people are becoming too stupid and too lazy to take responsibility into raising their children properly, everyone else suffers.

You can thank your local "Mom's" organization near you for the horridness of censorships...oh and also your neighborhood politician (or if your not afraid to travel...far away politicians too).

Plus also thanks to the above, marketting tactics benefitted off of it by being able to just censor it on tv, then sell you the uncensored on DVD for absurd prices. So the companies are riding the gravy train on that one.
