Quality eroge maker Overflow is set to release an upgraded version of its classic bugfest School Days, “School Days HQ,” a high definition remaster of sorts. However, it has already announced the first delay in release…
The game was previously set for an August release but has now been delayed an additional month to the end of September.
The game itself promises significant upgrades – by eroge standards at least. Game resolution will be increased from 640×480 to 800×600, graphics will be upgraded to Cross Days standards, and new scenes will be added.
Assuming it is released this year, a generous assumption indeed, fans are sure to be appreciative of the chance to revisit the title’s signature crazed yandere antics in slightly higher resolution.

I will side a bit with 0verflow here and since you guys probably don't know (fair point but don't bash without knowing) or don't care (fair point but don't bash without caring) to know the intricacies of coding for eroge:
Their engine is not the standard krkr, nscripter or BGI that's free out there, it's also the only custom Unicode compatible engine I've seen out there (most others simply use ISO-2022 or Shift_JIS because they know they're only working on Japanese), e.g. RealLive doesn't. If you saw their English version April's Fools you'd realize.
Still, setting a date and not complying with it sets an irresponsible aura to the coders and/or company.

Have you actually played the game? There are plenty of good endings; only a few are violent.
I think it'd be nicer to add bad ends actually, since they're outnumbered and more interesting.
What was wrong with the ending? Imho, although the ending was sick, it left a tremendous impression on me, which made this anime a very memorable one.
If it ended too normal like Da Capo or Shuffle!(not saying I don't like them), it won't be anything special.
Although DC and shuffle aren't even normal to begin with..
I like Lucky Star cuz of it's comedy and epicness. I like Higurashi for loli, moe and partially guro. I like School Days, not cuz of the guro, but because the anime is dark, and the twisted ending amped up that factor.
I, for one, look forward to high quality bad ends. The heavily censored bad ends from the console version should be redone. I wanna see somebody get run over by a train, dammit!

Eroge artists have to draw something like 50 pictures as opposed to animators who need to do over 9000 per episode so you'd think it wouldn't be so much to ask.
Higher resolution is no extra work at all for the artist. The original pics are drawn at a much higher resolution and get downscaled for use.
Animators don't draw in 1080p either, and often not even 720p, despite what station-upscaled "HD"TV-rips would have us believe.
