  I know this only for japanese sales but I can’t help but get the feeling that squeenix and atlus’ insistence on catering to fans of american style games is a factor. rather than sticking to the niche that made them legendary they’re trying to turn into the companies that we were trying to get away from. they’re becoming those kids that went with a trend to be cool. at least working designs died with their integrity and cred intact.
