I don't think anyone here knows how good his opponent was. FYI Andre Dida is effing good. He actually put up a good fight with Buakaw Por Pramuk (good as shit). Also he is one Mauricio Rua's trainers. Basically, he isn't just a "Brazilian Thug". Of course, I don't expect anyone here to know that...
Sorry for being late to the party, but I'm with you here. Dida is far from a "thug".
Here he is almost knocking out Buakaw (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4pXaCy2n3Nk) in case anyone still interested.
That Shinji cosplayer looks HOT
My hero!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JfTXt0fEIxo
This would have been better if the other dude cosplayed Shinji and went completely batshit insane on him.
I see Yuri from Angel Beats! cosplay(far left side) in the last photo...
"If a man wears a dress there is something wrong with him or he's gay"
XD oh god that dutch man beat his ass with ease. After the cosplay there is nothing exciting about him. He isn't that good of a fighter either. But otaku declaration is fine I guess.
lol first Brazil gets beaten by NL in the world cup. Now they get beaten by Japan in K1 xD!
Not having a good streak lately :p?
K1 is one of the only competitions Japan is good at
actually NL is master in the heavyweight category of K1 ;)
Reminds me when some guys cosplayed as Super Saia-jeans (Super Jeans Skirt in English). In portuguese it sounds like Sayajin. I rofl'd.
Doesn't change the fact that seeing guys using jeans mini skirts is a vision from hell.
HIDEOUS-SHI!!
Oh, God, the bottom of the last 2 pictures is absolutely priceless.
Hes ok if he improved his technique then he wouldnt be as bad. im glad he won the fight though the brazilian seem like he was really serious and he was winning near the end of the second with that flurry he got on him. and i woulda scored it to the brazilian becasue of the end of the second and the beginning of the third until nagashima got his second wind and took the guy in the end of the fight. but i could see a draw as well.
Funny because most official or large MMA sanctioning bodies UFC have pretty much softened it down to MMA = standard western kickboxing + limited grappling with open finger gloves. That's it. Seriously. There's
- NO elbows
- NO knees
- NO low kicks
- NO open handed thrusts (e.g. thrust to solar plexus)
- NO locking/twisting of joints
etc, etc,
I say "standard western kickboxing" because the first 3 restrictions precludes MMA from using authentic Muay Thai; likewise current MMA prevents fully utilizing techniques in other martial arts like aikido, jujitsu in their full *NON-sport* forms
UFC was ruined pretty quickly (at least as fighting rather than athletics) by this - from a diversity of fighters and styles fighting realistically to all fighters using the same kickboxing/limited grappling, all in a decade or so.
"There's
- NO elbows
- NO knees
- NO low kicks
- NO open handed thrusts (e.g. thrust to solar plexus)
- NO locking/twisting of joints
etc, etc,"
are you serious? do you even watch ufc? the only elbows not allowed is the vertical elbow coming down(from 12 to 6), the only knees not allowed is to the head of a downed opponent, the only low kicks not allowed are kicks to the balls, dunno about open handed thrusts, and there are plenty of armbars/kneebars - hell just last week a guy won by almost twisting the other guy's elbow out of its socket. do a bit of research before you start bitching like you know jack shit
OMFG!! That hook from around 1:53 in the video was DEVASTATING.
> Jienotsu wins using cosplay.
> Jienotsu is near to conquer the world.
> Chuck Norris see Jienotsu on tv and dislike.
> Black hole desintegrate Jienotsu.
K-1 only fights stand-up arts so transferring to an MMA league would be dumb.
Also K-1/Japanese boxing is really pitiful. Go search "Japanese Boxing Death" on youtube.
next time dress like Konata (lucky star)
this will give a boost up x 100
I gotta ask,
is there anyone more awesome than this guy?
the answer is, hell no...
anddddddd cue Kotaku's blatant copy of Artefact's article.
I watched this fight and wouldn't say he's terrible; it was quite cool.
Though even if he is considered a novelty, I can just think of him like Bob Sapp, and Bob Sapp is awesome.
lol shinji
The augmented reality thing was quite lame ...
Well, you think everything is lame, so that's to be expected. (^.^;)
While I didn't think it was well done or perfect by any stretch of the imagination, I won't call it lame. In fact, I think it's kind of cool that they decided to be a little innovative and creative. The text scrolling effects and the brief appearances of the two Evas were pretty neat.
let them take over the world.then i can become the hero and save all the girls.then they will all repay me with their bodies and all the girls will belong to me
All your girls are belong to us
I don't see a problem with this
I love this guy.
Nothing says 'Japan Representative' better than 'Cruel Angel Thesis' blasting behind you! (^o^)
Honestly, I have great respect for him in more ways than one. Not only does he prove that not all Ani-Ota are pushovers, he is able to proudly exhibit his love and passion for cosplay (which some will definitely find shameful or embarrassing) on the world stage, proving that he is, the one and only, the true embodiment of the modern Japanese (Pop) Culture!
Yeah I was about to stop the video and go back to the forums but then the song played and I started sing it.
He doesn't just attract the Otaku crowd. It maybe odd what he does but it does attract people to his fights that why people enjoy watching do his thing.
wait where was the kickboxing?
It was cut out, the Brazilian guy actually raped his ass.
never fuck up with japanese otaku
Not surprised
Hehe, His Best Costume yet.
Not Feminine at all.
I agree Best Costume Yet. With stuff like this he can make cosplay seem cool, instead of seeming creepy. He should dress as more male characters, and surround himself with harems of the cosplaying cuties from the appropriate series.
But if he stops cosplaying female characters, it'll take away the lawl-factor...
....Gender Bender...?
It's one thing to beat a man. It's a whole other level of owning when you beat him up while dressed as a girl!
he should dress as Archer or Lancer, would fit quite well.
Kenshiro or Dio Brando would be good choices for him...
no no, Rider =D
Damn straight. I'd love to see him dressed as Rider.
I like him...He preserved his gender. He should be proud! ^__^
He looks manly while dressed up in female clothes.... yeah that's the way to do it.
Would love to see him switch to MMA and fight in europe and america.
MMA would kill his otaku spirit.
how about if he becomes a general martial arts otaku?
Wait a minute... if he cosplaying as Hideyoshi in that interview picture? I don't think the west is ready.
I find It very impressive that you were able identify his cosplay in that interview. There was not one hint of Hideyoshi when I tried to figure It out myself....boy Is he ugly. :\
Well, Nagashima forcing female cosplays even with his staunch man-face is kinda the charm.
But look at his cosplaying entourage. There's some cute jailbaits. Both female and male. o_o;
Kick ass hideyoshi..... Now for a doujin on it....
otaku conquering the world? god shave us all :S
it would love to see him fight MMA in europe/usa... but i would be worried about him at the same time...
You can't expect him to take care of all fighters everywhere, now can you. "Otaku will conquer the world", right?
Maybe there's a new rising star reading this article right at this very moment, inspired to become the new Jienotsu of Europe/USA/whatever your region is.
Josh Barnett is otaku but he doesn't do cosplay.
Jienotsu did some MMA (3-2) but nothing major. Kickboxing rules were probably easier for him to work with. Probably for the better because Japanese fighters and global MMA don't really go together too well.
That's what I said, we need more of our guys around there.
i don't think Jienotsu wouldn't last in MMA he fighting with the pros u know lol
I love how the oblivious Japanese narrator says "Diego Araujo".
