Google’s custom background feature is being put to good use by Azunyan fans it seems – truly, Google has never been so moe.
The option for a custom background image is available from the bottom left link on the main Google homepage.
Those looking for high resolution images for this or general wallpaper purposes can find them using the advanced search features of the Channel – width:1280 will search for images with a width of exactly 1280 pixels, whilst width:3000.. (with two periods after the number) will search for images over the specified size.
A rating:safe can be applied if less prurient imagery is desired.
The same technique works with “length:” and the two can be combined together – other power search features are outlined in the search quick guide, seemingly little read despite being linked on every page.

Anyone else have the problem of no matter what size pic is uploaded to be placed as BG, its gets over blown up. So when i do the Azusa pic presented here, i cant even see her mouth, as its blown down off the bottom of the screen. Le sigh. :/

From what i heard, this service was removed yesterday or today.
Google said, that cusom BG Option was only available for ONE Day.
lol. I dunno, I got it working in Firefox, but not in Opera or IE (didn't try Chrome). If I tell Opera to identify as Firefox it'll work, but the way I got the custom CSS set up it works better than Google's method anyway.

Simply log into Google by using the top right hand [Sign In] option.
Then choose [Change Background Image] on the bottom left of the main Google page.

That's not true, you upload the picture to your google account, google doesn't allow porn, be aware of that
no they can be uploaded by your computer so there is no by pass needed. the only thing it needs is to be very big I think it's more than 600X800 I'm not that sure but around there
