Kazumasa Uchio, or “ucchiey,” who modestly describes himself as “an old guy who loves dragons,” is an artist few would wish to remain ignorant of.
As with many such artists, his works exhibit something of a fascination with particular themes, in his case overwhelming that of dragons set amidst fantastic landscapes…
Now in his fifties, he has enjoyed a lengthy and distinguished 30 year career as a freelance illustrator, having trained at university and in Europe in traditional art, and then moved to CG art in the nineties. His achievements include innumerable awards, published works, and exhibitions, including the concept art for a Final Fantasy movie.
He holds occasional exhibitions of his works where they can viewed in full size (the originals are generally metres in size), and has spoken of releasing an artbook
He maintains his own site, as well as a Pixiv profile.

Do images bigger in resolution than the ones posted here exist? These deserve an uncompressed format of at least 5000x5000px :P. Also that would be good for making wallpapers (1920x1080, although it hurts me cropping the art to fit a 16:9 aspect ratio >.<)

Some of those backdrops and dragon pics remind me of Dungeons & Dragons.
I love these. They have the feel of the 80's metal art that a lot of newer fantasy art doesn't have.
The most BadAss artwork I've yet to see.

wow...shopped? Clearly you can't mean simmonsed since none of these landscapes exist in real life. Surely you don't think 'shopping' is some kind of magical process that causes images to appear out of nowhere? And even if he used a computer to put the final touches on some of these pictures, would that somehow decrease his artistic skill??
This guy looks like he could do great art conceptions for Diablo 3 and Monster hunter series.
@MtG: It does, doesn't it? A lot of these were posted on /w/ quite some time ago, and I saved every single one, and I'll do the same now. The detail and colour are gorgeous, and I like the mysterious feel.
Indeed, the drawing style reminds me a lot of MtG too.

I so wish I could get back into MTG. The only place in my area that still holds FNM (friday night magic) is about a 30-40 minute drive only to play for 2-3 hours and have to drive home.
Tryed to play MTGO (MTG online) but it just doesn't give me that thrill. I can't get into someones head from behind a monitor. You also can't enjoy the look a defeat when you pull a perfect combo.
Yea, it'll be tough to get your mom to give you a drive.
