Speculation Rages Over “Persona” for PS3

The mysterious appearance of a “Shin Megami Tensei: Persona” entry in an official Australian classification database, with the platform specified as PS3, has caused a great deal of consternation amongst Persona fans hoping for a belated Persona PS3 debut.
Speculation ranges from some kind of mistake with a PSP title (although the database stands unamended), to a remastered release of an earlier title (though only 3 and 4 carry the “Shin Megami Tensei” label), or the long sought release of Persona 5, itself previously rumoured. The lack of numbering only adds to the confusion.
Clarification can probably be expected at E3.

E3 exists?
Yeah but last I heard it wasn't open to the public anymore. On top of that, E3 goers weren't too pleased with the products on show. Specifically games. I think it was around the time of sequels and remakes. I've been out of the scene for a while.
Why are people raging? I'm fucking excited. Can't wait for more Persona games. Plus Persona 5 was announced about 2 months ago.
Does everyone realize that both Persona 3 and Persona 4 were rated M for language, violence, and partial nudity (some of the female monsters have slightly vague nipples, and of course Mara).

Well... it depends.
Most Harvest Moon series allow you to have babies after your marriage with NPC girls. But then, there's no fucking hentai/sex or any other matured stuff involving baby making in the game. Seriously, this is going off topic, but M for harvest moon is shit.
persona fans are one of the very few gamer demographics that actually dread their beloved series making the jump to a next-gen console.
I'm a persona fan, yet I dream of a next-gen title. If one does happen to come by, it's probably for the PS3/PSP cause Persona has always appeared on PS platforms.
I am huge fan of the Persona series, ever since Eternal Punishment, and I would love for it to come out on PS3. I do not own one but will spend the cash for one when P5 comes out on it. That's right, no "if" because I know they will release it on PS3.
But do you know what would be awesome? If Atlus got with Sony and released a Persona-themed PS3. That would make me squeal and wet my boxers. Maybe stickers and the console in the color of the game, because P3 and 4 were blue and yellow.
Although I hope it's true... maybe it's just mistake =(
I want Persona
Hope this is real. Persona could really be "Big" for PS3 owners after SquareEnix's rumors of FF13VS going multiplatform. Not being flamebait, just saying that PS3 owners could use an E3 this year without some Microsoft guy saying "In your face!" to them.

What's weird is that this has appeared on a classification site at all, seeing as there've been no official announcements since the confirmation that it was "going to be developed". Or maybe it's a lot further along in development than they're letting on. Either way, Persona for PS3 - I'm happy no matter what title it is :D

Persona 3 received a M rating, reason being that the characters shot themselves in the head every whenever you cast magic. Wouldn't want any imitators, now would we :D
What Dvv said, P3 and P4 in the US were also given M ratings by the esrb so that shouldn't be a surprise at all. And yes, the M rating is somewhat warranted due to some suggestive themes such as slight partial nudity, shooting yourself in the face and being awesome.

they also put a MA15+ (highest rating before Adult) rating on Azumanga Daioh that just proves they don't know shit when it comes to rating anything.

It was only one episode that was rated MA15+, the one where the male teacher pervs on the highschool girls in the pool, which was considered almost pedo-tastic in the eyes of the classification board.
The entire DVD it was on had to be given that rating since the highest individual rating applies to the entire contents of the package.
That doesn't even make sense because Atlus don't publish their own games in Australia AFAIK. They are usually picked up by other publishers like Ghostlight.
Atlus publishes their own stuff in Australia along with many other titles that are made by third party developers.
Actually, Nintendo published the Etrian Odyssey games, Namco Bandai did P3/P4 and Ghostlight did Digital Devil Saga... basically everyone *except* Atlus publishes Atlus games in Oz.

For some reason Persona 5 rated M for one reason because of Violence or something else that might be in the game.Most of the Persona games the main character kills themself for some stupid reason.
