The announcement comes by way of the obi on the latest volume of the manga – it seems the new anime is to take the form of another OAD, packaged with the 9th volume of the manga and due for release January 2011.

Well, in the case of Yotsuba&, the creator says he doesn't feel it would translate well to an animation. I don't know why. Maybe he didn't like the way Azumanga turned out.
