Yes, this. Foxes cache their food, so even if they kill a lot of chickens they can't eat, they'll come back and get it later.
Also, in studies in Britain where they left the fox population alone, there were fewer livestock attacks and the foxes stuck mostly with voles and mice, thus helping the farmers a great deal. It was only with overhunting that the fox population boomed in reaction, resulting in fewer food resources and they turned to chickens etc.
tldr; Just a little more animal info. ;)
Yes, a fox WILL kill all the chickens in a coop, but what you'll find is that, if left to his/her own devices and isn't disturbed by farmer/dog, the fox will eat what it needs first or take food for its cubs, and then come back for the rest, one at a time, and bury them in favourite food stashes for future provisions. There's a reason why foxes kill everything in one go.
