The solution was simple: Close the store doors and start a line. The havoc would be eased nad the otaku would... start fighting to get a better line position. Ok, I give up.

Holy Shit, I've been to this Lawson before when I went to Hakone in 2002.
It's rather unassuming so I can see how they could be overwhelmed. However, it's next to one of the main bus routes so getting to it isn't that hard.
