The Cure Cosplay Festival Volume 2 was recently held in Yokohama, giving a variety of top cosplayers the chance to show off their portrayals of a wide variety of characters.
The event also included a novel cosplay “fashion show,” along with a wig show, a vocaloid-only event, and a seminar on posing.
Thankfully plenty of photographers were on hand to document events:

Tidus is done flawlessly.
I will also add in that Tidus was done to absolute perfection. From the details, to the proportions of the guy, to everything... He looks like he was taken out of the pre-rendered scenes and cleaned up so he's no longer in the uncanny valley.
Maybe I'm noticing him more because I'm so used to seeing passable (at best) guys doing cosplay and used to seeing girls do it so professionally.

The Tidus was perfect! and the Beatrice one was almost perfect, I salute those cosplayers.
Loving the Beatrice cosplay.
And Tidus had me rolling in laughter. I can't help but feel that they did a good job portraying his personality in that picture. And bonus points for the blitzball, though shame there wasn't more of the Yuna cosplayer in the background.
After i saw picture 11 i thought it was gonna be some major trap saying something like it was an all male convension.

Wow, I'm impressed. I expected to see cosplayers of the most recent stuff out of Japan, but Magic Knight Rayearth's Ascott?! Umineko's Beatrice? The Hanged Man?! Boss HOG!
I don't like the Luffy cosplay, though--it looks too much like a girl. I know some people are solid in that the Japanese do cosplay better, but I haven't think someone from Japan can make a decent Luffy--they make him look too girly...
Oh: and the Gintoki cosplay doesn't look stoned enough!

My first thought when i saw it was "OMG screw the ladies im gonna stare at this for a while"
And i dont think its a shop, looks more like he had a few tanning sessions and then smeared some tanning oil in his face. That gotta be one of the best cosplays ive ever seen in terms of resemblence without having shopped the picture to hell and back. The only thing that annoyed me is the plug in the blitzball make it look more like a cheap beachball... should have been held the other way so you would not see it.
I think the abs are painted, as opposed to shopped. Some cosplayers use theatre make-up to create the illusion of more muscles, or more cleavage and so on.

Hmm I dunno, I have seen better looking before from obvious casual cosplay types that made something on the spur of the moment.
I'm also thinking a lot of those people were on average looking to be a lot older looking too.
The only examples that actually impressed me were a couple of guys oddly enough. The girls just didn't come across looking at that great.
Those look pretty good a recognize most of them. pics 059 and 060 look like versions of firona vie from everquest1 - i know square enix and sony continued using costume designs from that game on into console games.

pic 019 looks like a high low class street hooker in the mid west usa. really fine i tell yah..

Man, I hereby announce: This could easily be THE BEST male cosplay example I've ever saw in my life. The similarity to the character is astounding, it's like he came out straight out of CGI. It's like, he was pasted there from CGI and photoshopped a bit to look real. Man, I'm speechless.

I saw a Xiahou Dun in there, This makes me happy. In other news: all the other cosplays were nicely pulled off. that's the first time I've seen a Bayonetta cosplay too and it was pretty awesome.
