MoeHaku 2010, a Chiba-based event with a heavy emphasis on itasha, also played host to a wide variety of official cosplayers (technically “cosplay companions” as many were laid on by organisers), with the overall quality being high indeed.
The expected plethora of anime, Vocaloid and Touhou cosplayers are well in evidence, along with a few hidden surprises…
The event was held inside Chiba’s huge and ultra-modern Makuhari Messe exhibition centre, and saw healthy attendance despite high winds and steel grey skies:
Whether most visitors were really there for the cars and bikes at all is an interesting question.
Possibly the organisers could save money and occupy a smaller space by eliminating the superfluous car component altogether…

From the various pics I've seen (not just on SC), it appears many (most?) Japanese don't get, or pay attention to the idea of, "don't put strong color with strong color". People from other countries would call many of their displays "garish".
Most of the people "moe-ing up" their autos, motorcycles, and bicycles don't get, or pay attention to the concepts of "sparing", "clean", and "don't over-do things".
Their rigs look like a food-fight in a blender!
I liked the original Hatsune Miku Z-4 decal job.
I wouldn't mind a 1-inch high decal anime/manga/game character-of-my-choice in black, white, or color, which I'd put on the front quarter panels, near the headlights, or a two-inch high one I'd put on the gas cap access panel.
Those in the know, would know, and it wouldn't be so blatant or offensive as to repel 3-D women.

I respect that they covered the spectrum for all interests and are equal in male/female cosplay-er representations.

I have seen them since the 1970's, when KISS made them VERY popular after they started to wear them, and having been to KISS concerts in the 1970's - I have seen these platform boots many times.
