Bishoujo = Beautiful woman.
He didn't think it sounded like bi, as in bisexual.
Bishonen (or Bishies) is a BL/yaoi term for beautiful men.
Bishyonen doesn't necessarily apply to BL. There are many characters that are classified as such (Himura Kenshin and Nozomu Itoshiki for example) yet they have never been associated with homosexuality in official works.
